If you mix the cornflour with a small amount of cold water before adding to the casserole, and stir it in for a couple of minutes, it won't go lumpy.

Great thread MrBE, wish I could find where it says what you are actually cooking ;) .

Have you thought about pudding? :D

Yes. There won't be any room for pudding. :D
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

Mix the cornflour with cold water first. Then add some of the hot liquid to the mixture before stirring it into the slow cooker.

I believe you were told this during the stew thread. :p

Yes, separately. So new potatoes take about ½ hour? Cheers. :D

Well depends on the size, but I allow half an hour from cold water to cook iyswim.:D Too late for adjustment now I'd have thought!

I hadn't forgotten. ;) It was plain flour in the stew, but I had a horrible experience with cornflour when I made Turkish Misery, if you remember. It's put me off the stuff for life. :rotfl:

Having said that, I've just chucked some in. :p

To be honest I prefer to use plain flour. It doesn't go lumpy quite so easily.
