I use cheap disinfectant and boiling hot water and throughly wash it out as well. Then I leave it to dry outside. The cat has 2 trays, so I do one the the other.0

Our old cat loved the smell of bleach. He'd also lick your hand raw if you'd been swimming in a pool with chlorine even if you'd showered afterwards.Make £2025 in 2025

I give it a good soapy wash with fairy liquid. Occasionally I'll use an antibacterial kitchen spray but make sure to give it a good hot rinse afterwards.
The cat doesn't seem to care how I clean it as long as someone does it!Norn Iron Club Member 3300 -

I use litter tray liners, then it rarely needs cleaning. Most of the pound or 99p stores sell boxes of them.
I usually rinse my trays out with hot water, and then use an anti-septic spray and kitchen roll to clean them out.
Does anyone else find that seconds after you've cleaned the tray and filled it with clean litter, a cat will jump in and use it?0 -
Mine doesn't use his box very often thankfully, he prefers our garden. But if it does need a clean I use an eco friendly multi-purpose cleaner. No masks though but I do hold my breath for as long as possible.0

Yours waits until you've actually finished filling it :rotfl:you don't know how lucky you are.0 -
