    I entered my details.
This is how you sign up with a loan broker.
At no stage did I willingly sign up for them to act as a broker.
You sign up by entering all your details.
After I entered my bank details and the next screen made it clear that they were loan brokers, I closed the browser screen.
    .
It's like filling your car up with fuel, then just as it is about to cut off because it is full, realising you have no money to pay so quickly remove the nozzle. You still have to pay.

You can go straight to the FOS but you can (should) simply follow the procedure and write in for a refund. The FOS should only get involved when you have made attempts yourself but not received a satisfactory outcome.

Barafear if you follow this advice I bet you will get a refund.
  • Ok - update for everyone. Thanks for the criticism which I asked for!
Clearly "mis-quoted" in terms of entering my details - I only entered my card details to "verify my card" with a transaction of 10p.
    But that's by the by.
As an update to my previous post, I had a rather frustrating time contacting them again - emails again went unanswered - and several phone calls did not get through - just listening to music for 10+ mins. However, eventually yesterday I did get through. The rep told me I had "agreed" to the "partial" refund - I argued this point (I had no evidence as I did not record the phone call) but I did point out that I had asked to speak to a supervisor so it would seem "stupid" to instantly agree to something that the previous rep had offered.

Anyway - after a couple of mins on hold, they came back and "agreed" to refund the remaining £25.

Too early to be in my bank account as yet - so fingers crossed.

I have read about loan brokers in the past - and I have previously been "redirected" to pages which clearly state that a charge of £70 (approx) is charged - this was the first website where I feel "duped" into "signing up" (as my details were simply redirected from a non-broker link) - and felt it would be useful to alert people not to fall into a similar trap.

Hopefully I will get the remainder of my refund and have no need to take things further.
  • I hope you get your refund in a hassle-free process.
  • Just to confirm the remainder of my refund was received.
