  • So send them an e-mail or write to them at their registered address formally requesting a refund. Send recorded. There is actually a HUGE thead about Loans Direct. Looks like you two aren't the only ones to randomly hand out bank details without being sure who you are giving them to or what service you are buying.

Stop all the ringing an emailing nonsense, just look at the T&C's for instructions.
Send the letter by traceable means. If you send the letter within 14 days you are entitled to a FULL refund.

If they refuse/ignore or in any other way stall, then go the the FOS (links below). Attach a copy of your refund request including the date it was posted when informing the FOS.

Thank you Chris, this is exactly what I was looking for. I clicked on the Membership, FAQs, Cancellation and Refund Policy links, but must have overlooked the T&Cs one.
Yes, there is. In fact, this is one of the most transparent and informative broker sites I have seen.
No, there isn't. The page you posted, which I had already looked at, and your post itself was not helpful at all. Looking at your other posts in this thread, it seems unhelpfulness may be a trait of yours. I'm sorry if you expected some gratitude for your two second Google search and snotty attitude.
You should have made it clear in your OP that you don't want to call/have e-mailed but are too impatient to wait for a response.
A quick call would be the quickest and easiest way of resolving this. Your aseertion that they will make a cancellation as difficult as possible is entirely unfounded.

Also, I imagine they make it as difficult as possible for you to go through with the cancellation

An "aseertion" (sic) doesn't begin with "I imagine". Try checking a dictionary. Saying that I am impatient would be a much better example of an entirely unfounded assertion.

The phone number does work i have had same problem on wednesday they did not reply my emil and this morning took 69.75 out of my bank. I can not get through to them anywhere to get my money back, the phone take su to automated system and each option refers you back to the webiste where they do not respond. My advice is cancel your card right now or you wil lbe stuck like me, anyone know any number where I can get hold of them have tried 3 different numbers to no avail
Dizzy, I'm going to write to them by recorded post at the address mentioned in the post above to request cancellation. I think this is probably the best way to do it. Good luck.
  • They tricked me the same way ,i'am trying to get a refund but i dont hold out much hope.In the meantime i'm slagging them off everywhere i can. I have also set up a facebook account called payday parasites to warn others about these companies.

All people need to do is read what they are signing up for, I think loans direct UK are brokers and not lenders.

The facebook account won't help. There's already plenty of warnings all over the internet, and you missed them all.

Like others I too have been ripped off by this company despite never visiting them or directly signing up with them. Now im tech savvy, and work in IT so for my own peace of mind decided to do an audit trail of sites I've visited and and lo and behold, i had never visited loans-directuk.net which means they are using masking techniques, or worse, 3rd party data transfer. I still have as yet not received a refund from this company despite promises that they would. I did however do some research and managed to find out that their sole director (Text removed by MSE Forum Team)only lives a few miles from me so I will be going to ask him directly for a refund.

If you didn't give Loans Direct your card details how do you think they managed to get hold of them. I don't work in IT and I'm more tech sketchy than savvy so I was wondering if you were able to figure out which site you went to that passed your details on to Loans Direct. Have you ever used one of these loan brokers before?

I would guess the word "directly" in the "directly signing up with them" part means that he / she has signed up with another company, who have passed their details on.
