EE phone unlocked?

Both mobiles.co.uk and e2save are parts of CPW actually.
And you can't break a sim this way.
The phone will be unlocked, but if it's iPhone it will lock to the first network it connects to.0 -
Hi Hope someone can advise, Ive ordered a phone from mobiles.co.uk which is part of e2save, will the phone be unlocked so i can put my o2 sim card in or can it be unlocked??
Help! I dont want to break my sim or something!
thanks in advance!
There no way to be absolutely sure until you get it.
3rd party shops buy phones where they are cheapest. To save outlay the 3rd parties try and buy unlocked that way a shop has to hold a few phone of each type, not a few phones of each type on each network. Sometimes its cheaper to buy from the network, sometimes not,
That said if the phone is a network exclusive (like the Amazon phone on O2, or a exclusive colour) then they have to buy from the network.
I've had phones from CPW group unlocked and locked, there is no way to tell until you get it. Chances are it will be unlocked as Grumbler suggests, but there's no hard and fast rule.0 -
Thank you both! so if i put my sim in and it doesnt work i'll be able to put it back in my old phone and everything will be fine?
Thanks for your help!0 -

Yep, as long as it fits (and you don't have to cut it down) you cannot damaged your SIM by putting it in a locked phone.
If its an Iphone then as Grumber says it will lock to the network of the first sim used (only exception is if you buy direct form Apple).
Any other phone if it says SIM Invalid or asks for a code then it's locked. Ebay or your local market trader type phone stall can probably help you unlock it. EE will charge you £20 ish to unlock it.
I assume this was a PAYG phone, obviously if its contract you still need to pay the contract costs..0 -
Thank you, It's a samsung s5mini on contract, so looks like it should be ok! Thanks for your help ;-)0
