  • You really are doing so well. Your diary constantly inspires me. Bad day for my DH today so I'm quietly reading diaries and balancing budgets and getting ideas. Plus my back's bad so surveys, surveys, surveys!
  • Hi all, happy Friday!

Have been hiding away again. It’s concerning me how often this is happening at the moment. This time it’s been DH who upset me and sent me into a downward spiral. Short version of a long story is that he accused me of trying to cause him to have a seizure . I mean really?!?! I’ve spent 8 years (next week) trying to keep him safe and prevent seizures, so it was a total kick in the stomach that he said it. I’ve been feeling very much like I can’t go on with him anymore, but have started to lighten up a little the past day or so.

Half term has been quiet. We’ve only had one trip out, and it was a freebie to see Dippy the Diplodocus skeleton on tour at a local museum, which was good. The rest of the museum is free too and we hadn’t been for a while, so we filled in some time there and had a wander round town. Weather has been dire so lots of other free trips I’d thought of haven’t happened. The boys seem to have enjoyed being in the house anyway.

Made another £10 sale on eBay yesterday that was from the things my Sister gave me. My Mum gave me £20 on Monday also as I had zero money and she felt sorry for me I think :A.

I’ve won a Sony Speaker by entering a code on an emplty packet. It was great to be a winner, but the other prizes were things like Merlin attraction tickets which were what I was hoping for!! :o. Any prize is good though Xx

  • Sorry about what DH said to you. I'm sure it's the brain trauma causing him to behave like that, but still very difficult for you to hear after all you've done for him.

The museum trip sounds fun and good news on the speaker win :). Can you sell the speaker if it's not something you wanted?

I agree with ShrinkingWoman that sometimes flapping is required to stop us going backwards. It does sometimes feel like we're not getting anywhere but sometimes maintaining what we currently have can take a lot of effort.

  • Hi PLMBL, sorry you have been feeling down, it must be hard with DH brain injury and everything you need to do.

Museum trip sounds good, now my 2 are older they are wanting to do less and less, this week DD has just revised and been out on her horse, she met up with a friend on Tuesday in town for an hour. DS has met up with friends twice at the sports centre this week to play footie and that's about it, I've given up feeling guilty that we are not going on structured days out but they are 15 and 16 and want to do their own thing, they will still go out for a meal as a family and we have great holidays together but they are starting to become young adults and remind me of fledglings teetering on the edge of the nest still needing mum but wanting to spread their wings. What i'm trying to say is i'm sure you boys are happy just relaxing at home and playing xbox etc, life at school can be so stressful especially in the GCSE years its nice for them to be able to switch off and chill.

Have a good weekend and take care x

  • Evening all. Thanks for all your kind words and support. Mentally I’m feeling better thank you.

Physically I’m not great. The Xrays came back clear so I’ve been referred to urology as they still don’t know what’s wrong with me. Appointment isn’t until August so they can’t be too worried, so I was reassured by that. Last night though I had some awful stomach pains that had me doubled up and took my breath away. Today the pains are back but have moved to my side and back. I’m assuming from Dr Google that either my gallstone is stuck or it’s my appendix :(. Hope I’m completely wrong and it just goes away, but if it gets any worse I’ll be going to A&E :(.

In money matters, I’ve made 3 more sales on eBay :T. Haven’t quite worked it out yet but reckon I’ll clear about £25 after fees/postage.

Hi Lucky, hope everything is OK with you and you didn't end up in A&E :o

Well done on the Ebay sales, £25 is a nice sum to have coming.

Hope the boys enjoyed their first day back at school. Not long til the big summer hols now  And I hope hubby hasn't made any more comments. I'm sure he wouldn't have known what he was saying but it still must have really hurt you when you've done so much for him as well as holding everything together. xx
  • Appendicitis and gall stones are very painful, so definitely go to A&E if it gets worse. When I had appendicitis mine had burst, but I'd been in pain for 36 hours by then and it suddenly got worse and localised on one side so I guessed it was likely to be that. The doctors weren't sure what it was until they went in to have a look!

I hope you're okay apart from that and the boys were okay on their first day back :).
