    Thanks Beanie :A.

Barely slept last night. Ended up spending hours number crunching after realising that the mortgage is due out two days before we get more money. Have listed some bits on eBay today, but to be honest even if they so sell it won’t be an amazing help. Worst case I could borrow money from family for the two days, but to be honest it’s a monthly occurrence that we are struggling, so I know I need to focus on making more or spending less, rather than borrowing to bridge the gap.

Been trying to catch up on some competitions so that I’m ready for the advents from tomorrow. Apologies in advance to those of you on my FB!! Hoping I can win some things to take the pressure off.

  • Does your mortgage have to be on DD?

I'm just wondering if you could pay it by standing order or bank transfer and then you could pay it every week/2 weeks/4 weeks or whatever suits you rather than trying to pay 1 large payment out of 1 weeks/fortnights money.

As long as you have paid the monthly payment by the time the payment is due you wont have breached any contract agreement or anything.

I had a client who was on ESA and he always struggled to find his monthly mortgage payment but when I suggested paying half the amount every 2 weeks he embraced it and said how much easier he found it plus of course over the year you make one whole extra payment so a small OP without really realising.
  • Thanks EE :A, must admit I’d been wondering the same myself. Will give them a ring and ask.

Have organised £80 to come back from utilities. I would normally leave it as an overpayment, but needs must, and there’s still money in there anyway.

That's a great idea from EE, if you could get ahead of yourself it would ease the pressure.

Fingers crossed for some more competition wins xx

I pay my rent weekly as it's less scary than finding £500 4 weekly. So maybe it could work although if it's because you haven't enough to cover it I guess that doesn't really make a difference.

I feel you on Xmas. I am quite lucky in the fact mine are all younger and are happy with anything. I'm dreading when they get old enough to ask for things that cost more.

Hope DH is okay and you too
