Experto credite letter- not my debt

I didn't really know where to post this question !
I have had a formal looking letter from these people saying they are chasing a debt of over £1,100 for Npower, the debt is in the name of a company my ex liquidated some years ago. The business was registered at this address, but folded without debts- this is my home and I have always had EDF for my electricity, the company (minibuses ) was only registered here but never had a contract with a power or any other utility company.
My ex has told me to ignore the letter but it worries me . I know I don't owe the money, neither does he or the old company as we didn't ever have a service from Npower. I have my experion report and the debt isn't listed on that, neither is it on my ex's credit report at his new address ( but with this address linked as a previous address, if that makes sense?)
Is it safe to ignore or should I write to them/email them?
Any advice gratefully accepted!

Is the letter addressed to you personally?
or to the old company name?A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
It's addressed to the company, Tixy. I wasn't an owner/director or anything, the company no longer exists at companies house but my ex is still on the deeds here- he isn't mentioned on the letter either.0

I am thinking of sending the letter back to them with 'company not at this address /doesn't exist on it?0

Yep, that is what I would do in your position.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0

Thank you. It just doesn't feel right not to do anything- I don't want to come home one day to find a bailiff climbing through one of my windows or clamping my car!0
