M62 variable speed limit cameras

    It would be a funny old world if variable speed limits were reduced and they didn't tell you about it. The variable speed limit only applies if it is properly indicated and from the point of indication, otherwise the normal speed limit applies for that road, which would be the 70mph. Also, my pal in West Yorkshire police told me that the speed cameras are only activated when there is a variable speed limit indicated, so not on when it's the normal 70mph - but not sure if he knows that, or if somebody who knows somebody who knows somebody told him.

    I have always wondered whether the cameras are only working when the speed limit is reduced but have never taken any chances (and of course, 70 should be plenty anyway :A).
