Yes, as I think appeal responses must be by letter. (Check the BPA CoP).

Just a quick one - how do I exactly rebut the POPLA evidence pack? Is it as simple as going back onto the POPLA website and going through the same 'submit further info' process?

They've repeatedly referred to article B - contract with landowner (purportedly signed). Article B is actually signage! :D (and no contract in sight)
  • I've also had a ticket recently from parking ticketing ltd - You didn't happen to be in a manchester car park by any chance did you?? :)

Did you appeal through their website? I couldn't find a contact email so used the form on their website, which asked whether I was the keeper and driver or just the driver of the vehicle. How did you find your way around this?

Interested to see how they respond to my appeal as the NTK never arrived and I received the original ticket back in October.

No, I wasn't in any car park - this was in Essex.

I just sent via post with proof of posting, no leading questions that way!

I believe you can add it to the popla site using the 10 digit code, attaching the rebuttal

I also believe you can email to them as long as you tell them what it is and include the popla reference too

snail mail is probably too slow, although that may be allowed and work too

personally I would try the website and maybe email it as well, mentioning they may already have it through the website attachment system but you are emailing it "just in case"

I also agree that snail mail of the first appeal to PTL, with free certificate of posting at the PO is a VERY good way to avoid answering silly questions ;)

Thanks. I struggled to add via the website (maybe the code has timed out???), but have now e-mailed.

They even left the box on their own evidence checklist 'Registered keeper details and liability trail' unticked!!!

Did you see the programme that was on Tv last night about these parking companies, there was a guy on it who owns a chippie and he's taking his case to the High Court later this month, so there could be big changes in the industry depending upon who wins.
If the chippie man wins others should be able to reclaim money they've paid. If the parking company wins it can open the doors for other places to overcharge for none existent services.

    Success

Single point ruling - that they didn't provide evidence of any authority to pursue parking charges. Not even no authority to bring proceedings... they just didn't provide any evidence that they had any authority to be operating at all.

    Shoddy work!

Edit: how rude of me - a big thank you to the regulars for hand holding where I needed it :)

    Hi all

Today I received a fine from these guys (PTL). My car was parked in my underground parking bay of the apartment complex I live in. The complex is owned by a separate property management company. The property management company employed PLT to give out tickets for cars parked without permission.

My car was parked in its usual space for which I have a lease and right to park. Unfortunately, the disk slipped down a little bit and wasn't fully visible from the front of the car. That said, if you leant over the windscreen you could still clearly make out the permit and bay number. The photos which PTL took as evidence were purposely taken from an angle which makes it look as if the permit wasn't readable. I have however taken my own pics which show that the permit can still be seen from a different angle. In particular, at least half the permit is visible on the windscreen including the part which shows the bay number and permit number.

The fine was payable within 28 days. Unfortunately, this time has just passed as I was away on holiday so I am not sure where this leaves me.

It looks like I can appeal via this website (http://www.ptlappeals.co.uk/index.php/back-to-appeals-summary.html). However, I can already guess what reply I will get. This page (http://www.ptlappeals.co.uk/index.php/component/content/article/154.html) suggests that no appeals will be accepted where the permit fell off the windscreen, etc...

I would be really grateful for any advice before I try to appeal.
