swiss air/ expedia, flight changes

Options
Hello all,
My problem is swiss air changed their flight schedule for my holiday flights , i had very good flight times no waiting around in airports, or no early flights home, now i have two five hour waits in airports one going one coming home, home flight is 05.30 in morning rendering my last night of holiday useless, i booked this holiday via Expedia and the original flights i had to pay extra for as they were very good flight times, expedia charge more for these flights £150 more, what i am asking is should i get some compensation from them, i have tried to no avail as yet , thought i would ask you knowledgeable people, any advice would be appreciated, cheers.

how much notice have you been given? If more than 14 days then no compensation due, airline schedules can change and the earlier you book, the more chance that this could happen.
Do Swiss have flights operating with better times and connections? Unfortunately as you booked through a 3rd party they are going to be your middleman between you and Swiss Air.

You also mention re your original flights "expedia charge more for these flights"...I assume you meant that Swiss Air charged more/they were more expensive than other times or did you pay £150 more to book with Expedia than with the airline direct?

hi caz3121, , yes i booked the holiday with expedia in march, yes they did give more than 14 days, original flights were booked as a package through Expedia, with them you get a flight assigned to you if its not suitable you scroll down the page the better the flight time the more you pay, now i have far inferior flights with another company finn air, of which i had to accaept at this late stage, i believe they owe me money.

Check if there are better options available and then call Expedia to discuss the possibility of being moved to one of them. If the change was the result of a cancellation you can ask for a refund. You're not going to be compensated based on the fact that your current times were cheaper at the time of booking so might as well forget about that. As usual in these cases it would have been a lot easier if you had booked direct from Swiss instead of having to deal with Expedia but that's one of the downsides of using a 3rd party site.
