Baby mattress mouldy within 2 months - right to a refund?

You can't get refunds on babies. I should know. I've tried. Darned hospital would have none of it. A bloomin disgrace if you ask me, and a major gap in consumer protection law. I tried writing to my MP, but that didn't get my anywhere either.
Couldn't a leak be classed as faulty or not fit for purpose?0 -
Up to you to prove it's an inherent fault after 6 months :rotfl:
does it make you the consumer, manufacturer or retailer then...either way I think the result at the end would be the same.
The consumer (you) proves the fault and the retailer takes it back and passes it straight back to the manufacturer (you).....bit of a dangerous consumer loop there lol:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0 -
No the webbing/cover is not removable to be machine washed, hence why is has always been hand washed daily. I don't think machine washing an entire mattress daily is practical, it doesn't fit in my washer for a start.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

If the webbing isn't completely cleaned and then dries it will go mouldy, just like many materials, this is why it's a good idea to invest in a fully waterproof sheet for a baby/young child's mattress.0

Just to update, we've had a call off Babies R Us to offer us a full refund, their testing has found the webbing makes the product not fit for purpose.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
