Update Losing on Collective tarriff

Hi again, I did a switch, to the MSE collective shown as the best for me in the comparison, then I saw akso IN THE MSE LIST a better saving with the same company so I posted for suggestions. One response was quite helpful but I had already done as advised. The other member posted quite discourteously and rudely in my opinion, so I replied and told the poster that he had done the least helpful thing he possibly could, by putting down an inexperienced newbie. He also did the MSE forum a disservice in my opinion by not being in the least bit understanding and helpful to a newbie.
Now to cut a long story short, I am unable to switch because I have an "economy 10" meter based contract sold as the best for my needs by M&S energy a few years ago. It turns out that it wasn't what I needed but hey ho, I'm now in the process of changing over to an economy 7 meter and then I can switch tarriffs as and when. Unfortunately, I'll miss the deals on offer now, so a bit of a sickener overall. THIS IS NOT A MOAN BUT A CAUTIONARY TALE AND A REQUEST FOR PATIENCE FOR AND FROM ALL.

No need to create a new thread for each and every not-a-moan.

It is best to use kWh for each home as a base as it gives you a fixed point to compare from. And you should never take a sales pitch at face value. Collective switch tariffs are rarely a best option.

Are you sure E7 is best for you? Do you have storage heating? Although E10 does limit choice it is often better than E7 when used optimally. If E10 is not suitable then a standard one rate meter is usually better than E7. It is possible to be fine (due to wider choice of suppliers and tariffs) but do triple-check it is for you.

(Just reread your previous thread. As I suspected, the discourteousness is in your head. Naught awry with the replies. Whereas your tetchiness when members did not immediately jump in in bulk to affirm your essentially rhetorical original post... )

I don't get it either. You got one reply which stated the facts as they are. What else did you want?

There's no point people replying if they have nothing to add as it just confuses and leads to misinformation.

Thank you Nada, I can't obtain a like for like switch quote from my chosen switch provider ie Eon on E10 but my current supplier, SSE, through M&S won't switch tarriffs from E10 to standard without first switching to E7 and removing the E10 meter. That's why I'm in limbo at the moment.

Sorry Nada but if you see my re-quote, see below, as "Tetchy", I appologise. I was trying to get a couple of more experiences from members and share mine with them. The discourteousness in my opinion was from JJ, not as you suggest in my head but then different strokes as they say and as I had stated that I was a newbie why on earth would someone try to alienate by asking what I expected and saying that something is plastered all over the website. I could swear I've seen requests for patience etc with newbies and politeness to all plastered all over the website as well. As for expecting bulk replies to a rehetorical post, please help me out by explaining what was rhetorical about it.
"Since posting yesterday, I received one reply telling me to look at the kwh and standing charge. Thanks for the advice but I already had and despite the great intentions and pushing of the Collective tarriff, I'll be contacting Eon today to cancel the collective and take up the other tarriff, which looks as though it could be more cost effective in my case. Still haven't had the reponses I thought I might get and still a fan of MSE but just pointing out that in this instance, another tarriff could be better for me, so check".
