Well super Mario was pretty tough when you were a kid. I think I was 4-5 when my dad bought it and nothing could make me as angry as when Mario fell into a hole.
Nowadays though, the Dead Space game on hardest difficulti.0 -
the games with a bad gameplay0

Just came across this thread. Maybe showing my age but here are my top two:
Alien Breed by Team 17 on the amiga. You just could. Not. Stay. Alive. It was actually I think impossibly hard!
Elite on the BBC - I never managed to dock the spaceship on the first space station. I remember it was quite a badge of honour if you could do it. Once you had docked on the first space station you could buy an autopilot and then things would be easier, but I never did it despite spending hours trying.0 -
Street fighter II on the snes at level 7 was quite the challenge0

You young whippersnappers with your 'save game's - you don't know you're living!
In no particular order, either games I've got far in or that I know I'd have no chance at:
Dungeon Master
Prince of Persia
Another World
Jet Set Willy
Captain Blood
Syndicate Wars (I'm very close!)
Mega Lo Mania
Actually add in most Spectrum games, but maybe that's because I was a child...0 -
Are you talking about the one based on the adam west series that had two scenarios -- something in the police station, and rescuing robin from a coastal hideout?
Because I completed both when I was 5 or 6 XD. Took a few goes, but once you worked out that you couldn't kill enemies, only stun them, and timed your attacks accordingly, it wasn't too bad. And the puzzles were quite simple if you stopped to think (well I think they were, I mean, I was a kid at the time).
Really fun game actually, one of my favorites of the C64.
Ahhh, thinking thinking. It could be, and then there was the one by Ocean on Amstrad and Spectrum. Oh happy days hehe0 -
I find Civ quite hard, even on the medium difficulties. Must be insanely hard on the hardest settingFaith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.0

The PC version of Splinter Cell: double-agent. It was a poorly made port from the console version and was unplayable as it was full of glitches. There was one level (shangi?) in which the character has to shimmy along the edge of the outside of a building and when he to the corner he would simply just fall through the ledge to his death.
After months of waiting an update was never released to fix it. Forums was filled of people experiencing the same glitch and you had to keep redoing the same bit again, and again until you somehow managed to get past it.
The most fun and hardest game I have ever played is Company of Heros. That is a superb and extremely well detailed strategy game. It is the only PC game that I miss by not having a gaming PC.0
