But it's not a negative thing, it's a positive thing. It's not sad that you can have a better quality of life, it's not sad that you'll have more confidence getting out and about. There's a solution out there for you and that's brilliant.

It's not giving up or giving in, it's moving on with the rest of your life in a positive way. The time to be sad is when there's no options left.

DH didn't want to use a mobility scooter in his late 30's but after realising just how much life it opened back up to him, he was away and scooting! As you've seen, we get up to all sorts, without the scooters I think he'd have done something silly by now. Being able to get out and about independently and safely is a huge thing, a really positive thing.

I get this I really do.
    Thank you :)

Oh my word. Beanie - listen to your friends, and the variety and depth of what everyone's saying. Let it seep in, and then go for it.

I think it’s great that you still have so many reasons to be out and about.

    You are right.
I do try hard to do my bits & bobs & get out.
    Good for my mental health.

Morning Beanie :) I agree with everything everybody has said about getting the scooter. But I also understand how you must feel about the whole situation. However, that feeling is stemming from where you're sat now. I'm sure when you get it and you're whizzing around doing whatever you want to do whenever you want to do it, you'll look back and think, should have got one sooner. ;)

I really wouldn't worry about the money. Clearing the CC is great but you know you're disciplined enough to do that while also paying down the mortgage and other things. This is a spend that's worth so much more than just money. :)

    Have a lovely day. xx

    I get this.
    Thank you :) xx

I COMPLETELY disagree with you beanie . MSE is not about not spending money, but thought-out spending done as economically as possible.

I hope it brings you freedom :).

I hope it does bring me more freedom.
I think it just goes against the grain to add to my debt when I have tried so hard to get rid of it.
But, I do know it makes sense.

.....and I love this one too, although Pooky always did talk sense. Cmon Beanie, get your head in the right place and get on with it. Spending money wisely is good but you don't want to go down the route of it being a false economy. Buy what is best for you.

Beanie once you get a scooter I suspect you will wonder how you ever managed without it - it will make such a difference.
Something I asked a family member who struggled going from walking gingerly to using wheels - ‘if you see somebody on a scooter - would you think less of them because of it....?
Be kind to yourself Mrs :beer:
