That's a shame, beanie. The only sitdown meal I'm going to (apart from my sister's on Christmas Day) is tomorrow, with the walking group I'm getting to know. There are some very rich people on there that wanted to go to a local pub that charges more than the four star country restaurant about ten miles away, and nearly everyone rebelled, so its a normal pub lunch instead :)

I always feel very conscious that group meals are an extra expense that not everybody may feel ok with. Thought I was being seen as a bit stingy when I suggested we just go to a normal chain restaurant with work instead of frantically trying to find a 'proper' Christmas meal that will end up £45 a head but turns out everyone else was quite happy not to spend that too. :D

They certainly can be & the food is usually mediocre at best. Sigh.
