Good advice about the ring too - I'll add to that be absolutely certain you won't on any level regret letting it go. Once it's gone it's too late to think "Oh I wish I hadn't..."
And while you're not in a position to help financially you can - and I know will - still be there supportively and with advice and help. To be fair to my DS he has not nor would ask for money.
I just feel bad that I cant give any to him.

It is a long haul.. but think in 6 months or so just how proud of himself (and you of him) that he's done it. It's an amazing achievement. If he hasn't asked don't feel bad. There's many other ways you are there for DS.
He's very lucky to have a brilliant Mother like you

I'm like you, I wish I could help my DS and family but can't realistically.
Support in other ways is priceless though.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -

If you find a soup maker useful then I would go for it, I am sure there will be a good deal about. I haven't got one, but I have a friend who couldn't live without theirs!
