I remember them too 😹PennysIntoPounds said:Aw glad you've got a wee chocolate advent calendar to look forward to. I was thinking the other day about when I was a kid at Christmas and getting a selection of chocolate bars, packaged in the shape of a stocking, was the most exciting thing ever. Probably still would be 😁I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. I'm fond of an old school sparkly advent calendar with little pictures 🥰 I'm also fond of a chocolate one 🤭 and we have a lovely one that's kind of a fold out book which we bring out every year, so it's quite possible we'll end up with three 😂3

Enjoy the advent calendar, I had a wine version one year…Mortgage OP 2026 £50/2000Mortgage OP 2025 £7700/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000

I used to love those sparkly ones with the picture. So much so I used to buy myself one each year then moved on and bought an expensive one with beauty products (ahem I have redeemed myself in world of MSE since then) and then a tea bag one and what I realised was they were no where near as much fun as the pictures

This year WattyDog and Feral Cat have them and that is more fun as during advent they come to a call and sit nicely for the window to be opened and get a treat
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!6 -
I had a dr3amies treats one for my old cat one year - he loved it and would go and sit next to it each evening and look at us expectantlyWatty1 said:I used to love those sparkly ones with the picture. He wasn't the most affectionate or interactive of cats so that was a nice time of connection with him, even if purely food driven

Well I confess to buying 2 advent calenders, one decent & one cheapo. DS & I take it in turns odds from one evens from the other. We have had them when the chocolate in the cheapo was nicer than the other.5

When I was little I used to love seeing the pictures of my sparkly advent calendar but must have been very much behind the times as i didnt even know they did chocolate ones 😂😂 My 2 had ones with horrible chocolate in but they enjoyed them until Cadbury ones were around. I was eyeing hotel chocolat ones when I was in town last week…… I do wish they’d put Christmassy pictures on the calendars though.January spends - £587.583
