Friday evening did not go well.I fell twice with a walker walking the short distance to the venue. Really struggled to get up. Even with 3 friends helping.Then fell at the interval going to the bathroom.How anyone can fall is beyond me.I am feeling sorry for myself.I am stiff & sore. Hi Beanie, I just want to say I hear you, however I have heard the same from MD, my mum use to use a walker then got operated on, spent a lot of time in hospital then used a wheelchair. The fact that you have some mobility is great. Please consider using a wheelchair, you have to go to venues which are accessible, and you would need to book early to get an accessible seat, but no falls...obviously I would recommend taking care in your wheels if you decide to go down this path...I must warn you...once in a wheelchair people annoyingly think you are stupid and have no brains...which is incorrect, and actually those people tend not to have any brains, just fair warning you get treated differently in a wheelchair by some not everyone. I was appalled by the amount of people talking to me when I use to wheel her about before the motorised chair talking about her as if she wasn't there...people are weird that is for sure. Not all just quite a few of them!
Wheelcahir is better then mobility scooter, the amount of people that fall out of a mobility scooter is crazy, because they are not balanced very well. If you have questions about this feel free to DM me.2 -
