I think a glimpse of summer would help all our moods, sitting outside with a cuppa and a cat can’t be beaten. I went out to the bin earlier and actually shivered😂
Yes, it's certainly not warm  :(

Right, can we talk ironing boards.  I had a really good one.  Was too heavy.
Got a lighter one & its just dire.
Had a cheap tabletop one & it broke.
Should I try to get a better quality one? Tabletop.
    Thanks  :)

I’ve never used a tabletop one, I have probably the heavy duty one that I have had over 30 years, occasionally buy a new cover for it, sorry.

I don’t iron. Unless it’s a shirt for Mr KK as we are going out somewhere posh (very rare) or a sewing project (also rare 😂).

There are some that you can fit in kitchen drawers and just pull out and drop down. We had one here but I got Mr KK to swop it for a lower drawer which was more useful to me.

My suggestion would be to give up ironing   Not very helpful I know.  I don't iron anything.  I did have a small tabletop one for occasional use but got rid of it.  How long did the cheap one last and was it ok otherwise?  If it was months, I'd look for a better one, but if it was a couple of years, then I'd probably suck it up and understand it would need replacing unless the price difference between the cheaper and better quality one wasn't huge.

Would a wall mounted one work?  You could put as high or as low as you like so you could iron sitting down. HTH

I didn't have an ironing board for years. I would throw a towel over the dining table and use that instead as a board. Could you do that? 😊

Sweet of your mum. Last time I ironed I did it on top of my cotton quilted bedspread.  I always used to knock ironing boards o er and they'd end up twisted and dented. Only ironed once this year
