Morning Beanie :) Summer really is a beautiful cat. It's interesting reading comments from other cat owners. It sounds like they mostly  prefer the full on attention of their owner rather than another feline play mate :) Have a lovely day. xx

My cat definitely prefers to be the only cat.  She wasn't happy when we got a second, though she learnt to tolerate him.  He was killed and we didn't replace him, and when we moved here with no cats in the immediate vicinity, she is clearly so much happier.

Sorry to hear of the car costs beanie. ☹️
I think cats are naturally loners. If you look at any type of wild cat they all live and prey alone - apart from lions (I wonder why that is🤔).

I think cats are like people - some like company and others don't - it really depends on their personality!

My Siamese prefers having a cat companion to cuddle with, he coped ok on his own but wasn't used to it and we could see that it made him sad. My BSH quite likes the company of the Siamese but would probably be equally happy on his own.

When we had a third cat she dominated the BSH and they had a love/hate relationship. We didn't realise quite how much she bullied him until she died and he really came out of his shell. On the other hand she wasn't quite so bossy with the Siamese but they were particular friends and pretty much always together. The poor old Siamese looked everywhere for her when she died, turfing all the blankets out of the cat beds etc, it was heartbreaking to watch. 😢
