Hi.
I have a quick question please.
I am currently on DLA LRC HRM my award runs out in mid Jan 2015 but I have not yet heard anything from DWP
Do they automatic contact you before an award runs out? Or do I have to contact them?
I know that its now PIP and not DLA so was wondering if I have to make a claim for PIP myself.
Thanks in advance.

They will contact you.
The will invite you at some point in the future to claim PIP.
If you do not claim PIP, your DLA stops.
It is quite possible that you will be sent another renewal pack for DLA.0 -
seeing as we are now in novemeber, i personally would give them a call to find out.
if the reassessment is for PIP then the current DLA award would run until a decision is made, but if you are reassessed for DLA, your claim will end if you dont get the forms back to them in time for a decision to be made ( avereage 12 weeks 'supposedly') before the end of your current claim

Thank you nannytone.
Will give it to the end of the week and if I havnt heard anything by then will give them a ring. Our area are PIP now.0 -
It is certainly worth giving DWP a ring if you do not hear soon. Your DLA will continue only if you apply for PIP within a certain time and get all paperwork submitted within the time you are given.0
-
You should already have been invited to apply by now because your DLA runs out in January. Ring them tomorrow because even if you do return those PIP forms back soon your DLA will still run out in January if they haven't made a decision on your PIP by then.0

as long as the PIP forms are returned by the date requested, DLA will continue to be paid until a PIP decision is made, regardless of how long it takes.

Please might you know of someone in Cardiff that would represent me at a PIP appeals hearing?
I’d be very grateful for any help or support0 -
contact your local council and ask if they have a welfare rights team ( some do and some dont) alternatively, try citizens advice or D I A L0

My 5 yr DLA is up for renewal at end of Jan, I received the exact same forms as before, ie. new claim DLA, sent back and got letter saying they've been received and they'll be in touch...totally confused and don't know if I'm going to get DLA, PIP, what? Feel like we're all in limbo, especially with an election coming.0
