Thanks for that, I thought it was 8-8, not 8-9

That covers US law.
I don't believe there is any UK legislation on this specific issue. But the telemarketing guide from the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) does define the same reasonable hours though. (See here: http://www.dma.org.uk/guide/telemarketing-guide)0 -

Only reason I ask is that I can start at 4am, and common courtesy is not to phone after the above time.
Hi Ckhalvashi,
I'm sorry it took a few days to get back to you on this.
The times of the calls are set in accordance with the code of conduct for market research as laid down by the Market Research Society (MRS). Following that code of conduct means calls can be made up until 9pm.
I hope this helps,
Craig“Official Company Representative

I imagine that most folk would agree that late calls (any over 8:00 PM) are a pain in the butt, if Lloyds believe that they endear themselves to their customers by making them dream on.0 -

Thanks for the feedback on this, home_alone.
Just to provide some background on this, we get very few comments from customers about calls being made between 8pm & 9pm and, for example, we get a similar amount of comments in relation to earlier calls interrupting TV programmes. However, I do appreciate that, while we get few comments from customers unhappy with this, some will be unhappy. Again, if you would like us to make sure no such calls are made to you in future, please send me an email (including your username in the subject line) with your full name & postcode along with any contact numbers we currently hold for you. I'll then request you're no longer contacted as part of these surveys.

With regard to the feedback you've given here, I've passed it on for you.
Thanks,
Craig

As this was the first call I have had at this time I will let it ride, if I do get further "late" calls I will follow your instructions.
