I've been letting my GSD cross sleep on the bed with me (I know I shouldn't, but hey, nobody else in the house). He always jumps on the bed and warms it up while I'm brushing my teeth etc.

As soon as I get in bed myself, I first get a barrage of dog kisses and when he's done, he's lay next to me, all 4 in the air and demand a belly rub. I pretty much get the same treatment when I wake up, it's nice to be appreciated first thing in the morning.

When I go out, he'll lay by the front door and he'll charge me, tail and bum wiggling 20 to the dozen as soon as I get back.

When I was sick on Sunday, he stuck to me like glue, wouldn't let me out of his sight, while he usually goes downstairs in the evening as it's cooler.

    What a lovely thread!

We have four cats, and consider that three of them love us. The other is more of a lodger really, and stays out for as long as she can and prefers little human interaction.

Harvey just loves a full on cuddle, preferring to be held like you would do if you were winding a baby, always held over the left shoulder, purring away in a deep contented rumble. He's also the one who tramples up your side, and peers earnestly down at you at three in the morning, just checking it really is you still there and whether this would be a good time for a cuddle.

His sister, smudge, is very much my Hubby's cat. She's a tortie and white, very chatty, and will follow him from room to room. She sits at the windowsill every night waiting for him to return home. When she hears his car pull up, she charges down the hallway, and greets him with wail after wail. We call this her rock star welcome!

The youngest cat (4 months old) is called Ellie, and has become my cat. She's a real lap cat, and loves a head scratch. She throws herself against you in ecstasy when you stroke her, and comes running furiously when you call her name

    What a lovely thread :)

My cat sleeps on my bed, usually either curled up next to me or on my other pillow. I get home from work and she will be waiting for me.

I get up in the morning and she will join me in the bathroom. She doesn't do any of that with my housemate, but she will go in his room at night before coming into mine, jump on his bed, meow a bit and rub her face against his then come into me and snuggle down.

To wake me up in the morning if my alarm is off, she puts her paw on my face, like she's smoothing me :D

He cuddles up on me on the sofa when it's cold. Other than that, the relentless kisses (games of 'keep away from my face' when he's been at something gross are difficult)..

Most of the time he's like a neglectful husband. Poops outside, demands treats all the time, stands on the coffee table trying to steal wine or cups of tea... climbs on my shoulder trying to get food off my fork as it goes into my mouth.

I don't know if it's a sign of affection, but when I try to tell him off (by talking to him like he's a child... because I'm nuts) he has a bit of a conversation back to me, doing little weird noises that aren't growls but just... moans, I guess. I think he's taken the time to learn our language... now he's coming for the rest.

Oh, he is funny, bless him :rotfl:
    I can't add up.

He follows me everywhere. I can't even have a wee without him when I'm there. He's my mom's dog really but I lived at home when we had him and he sort of became mine. He loves me the most anyway! :p

I miss him, I'd have loved to bring him with me but it wouldn't be fair to leave him all day while I work. That and my OH would probably leave because he's a very noisy little dog! :rotfl:

Nothing better than snuggling up to a pooch at night. As this kid knows :

He puts up with The X Factor to be with me, when even the hubby won't...
