How do you know they love you?

There's a lovely thread in Marriage and Relationships about the things people partners do to show them that they love them, and it got me thinking, what are the things your pets do to show that they love you?
My cat shows his love by running to greet me when I get home from work and immediately rolling over on the floor to demand bellyrubs!

Great idea! If I'm in one room, and my cats are in another and I haven't seen them for a while, I can call them and they respond with a lovely meow and come in and say hello.
If we're playing with a toy and the claws are out and get stuck, I can put my hand in there without fear of getting clawed as they know that hands are not for clawing! Very gentle kitties!
I also get groomed if I'm caught unawares, and they sleep with me most nights all curled up next to me.0 -
My cat comes running to see me when I get in. In the morning he waits outside the bathroom for me, then watches me get ready. OH usually goes downstairs first but the cat always waits for me, then trots down beside me. When I go to bed he always comes with me (OH usually still up for hours).
He sleeps either on my feet, in-between us or on my head. I often wake up to him licking my hair.... must think I need a wash
Love him!0 -
DH brings Captain Dumbass to meet me from the train. He stays up the path a little and lets him off the lead and when he sees me he runs so fast to me, then dances around me with his whole backend wagging. It makes my day.
When I'm lying on the sofa he jumps up and curls up behind me with his head on my hip, looking up at me adoringly.
If DH pretends to attack me, CD throws himself over me to protect me, assuming there are no bones in the room.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
Ah, what a lovely thread!
When I'm in the bath, dog #1 periodically comes in to check on me (and lick bubble bath off my face!) He also guards me on walks and gets insanely jealous should anotehr dog come my way.
With dog #2, I'm the only person he genuinely answers to and follows around, it's like he knows I've given him a better life (he's a rescue). He also goes bat sh*t crazy every single day when I get home like he hasn't seen me for days not hours.
I blooming love those two nutters0 -
I have 5 dogs, Ruby-woo especially has a way of looking at you, she lies next to you and literally gazes into your eyes:o.0

Molly my female dog knows if im upset she will just come over put her head on my leg and let me tell her all about it
Codey my male dog always gives me a cuddle and a kiss before he goes to bed at night
If I fall asleep on the sofa they will both come and lay on me to keep me warm until I wake up especially if im poorly
They both love nothing more than just sitting on the sofa watching tv with mum and they always have to have something touching me be it their snout, paw or even an ear
The cats are a fickle bunch tbh with you.
Hades shows her loves with kisses but sometimes you have to ask for them
Megan likes to come in for cuddles on the sofa with mum
Sophie meets you at the door as soon as she knows your there she even knows OH's bike and car sounds. She likes to sit on me in the bath for some unknown reason
Lucy just hugs you all the time and follows you everywhere
Abby likes to get under the cover and snuggle right into you
Ziva just likes to be near you and if she hasn't seen you for a bit she comes and checks on you
Lillith likes to give head bobs and likes to lay on your head

My mum has my 2 dogs at hers as I have no room for them in my house but whenever I go to see them they go all mushy when they're usually very playful and independent dogs.
The male dog (GSD):- leans on me for a bum scratch
- immediately darts between my legs when he first sees me
- will stay by my side and nudge my arm for a cuddle
- when hes being cuddled (him sitting at my side and me bending over him to hug his neck) he hooks his leg onto my arm and also holds my arm against him with his head
- will stare at me when I'm sitting on the sofa with his big brown eyes
- will look at me with his wagging tail until I let him lick my cheek or nose
- sits on my lap
- nudges her head under my chin
- if I sit next to her for a cuddle, she'll put a leg across me to cuddle back
- paws at my knees for a head rub
These were dogs that were with me when I was living with my mum so they see my mums house as their house and wouldn't like to be taken away from that, just in case anyone asks.0 -
If I go out my two go mad when I come back. No one else gets such fuss only me.:D
They lie on the floor by my side of the bed. I have to be careful how I get out of bed to use the bathroom if its dark because the one dog particularly lies that close to the bed I'd step on her if I hadn't noticed. They would be in the bed if we let them (no thanks).:(
The same dog who lies as close to me as she can tries to hump my leg if I am too close to hubby (again, no thanks). She doesn't do it to anyone else and she gets pushed off and told off but she still does it.:o
If I am sitting on the settee she jumps up and gets in between the arm of the chair and me. That's her spot.:)This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Mine are both totally different. The Spin is always the first to the door, bum wiggling, tail going mad, then he does this daft jumping off the floor with his front feet - only about 6" off because he knows he's not allowed to jump up! Looks very odd, bit like he's dancing.
The GSD is less demonstrative, comes round, gentle tail wags, soulful eyes, but bless him, he will hold his head still while I bath his ears (he's got a bit of a problem at the moment), and he cries while I do it, but trusts me enough to not move or growl - he could easily rip me to pieces, but he's just such a trusting, gentle soul for me.0 -
Old dog likes to know where I am and will get up (increasingly creakily given her age) and wander round the house until she finds me. Then when she has been assured the world is as she wants it she goes back to her bed and a deep sleep (being nearly deaf and with little sight)
Daft as a brush lurcher shows his love by sticking his head between the legs and then lifting the head up. Everyone gets this treatment. Recently we had a water softener fitted and I heard this gasp of surprise from the utility room. Daft as a brush had shown his love while the fitter was kneeling down, head in the back of the cupboard. It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.
