yes, I thought that too - well I think I might leave it till after Tuesday. By the way should I mention to the non-buyer that they have entered into a legally binding contract or not? What I thought of saying was as follows -

'Can I please advise you that it says in Ebay T&Cs...

''Buyers automatically enter into a legally binding contract to purchase the item from the seller if they win the auction-style listing or use the Buy It Now feature. eBay's Unpaid Item policy requires buyers to pay for the items that they commit to purchase. eBay will take action against buyers who do not pay for items they have won.''

I realise you are new to Ebay, but you should read the Terms and Conditions before you bid. Unfortunately, I will now have to inform Ebay of the situation
    Regards,'

    What do you think?

Frankly I wouldn't bother. If someone isn't going to pay they are not going to take any notice of terms and conditions and despite what ebay say about it being legally enforeable, in practice it would cost you more to enforce that contract than the printer cost.

If you want to frighten them a little tell them that your non paying bidder alert to ebay will put a strike on their account which might ultimately mean that their account will be suspended by ebay.

It actually takes three strikes before ebay will suspend an account, but you can be clever with your wording.

    Just got this email.........

I tried to pay for this item the day after it was won and it was marked as paid and I was unable to make a payment when I tried. I therefore bid on another identical item which I subsequently won and paid for. Sincere apologies for any inconveniences caused.

I don't understand what they are talking about - it was never marked as paid.

It is just a stupid excuse so I would file the non bidde strike, asap. If you have a problem paying for an item you contact the seller, or figure out what is wrong, you dont buy another one. They are talking tosh ! Strike , neg , block. Timewasters dont you just LOVE them

    Hey Cat,

What should I do? I emailed the person again, to say it was just an excuse and I wasn't happy. I offered the printer to the guy second on the list, who rang me (gave him my phone no. as he lives 10 miles down the road) and he came to pick it up. He seemed very pleased, so am I, but now what should I do about the non buyer? Should I still report them?

Yes still report him , you have been lucky that you got a nice second buyer , but no thanks to your first timewaster. If you report they will get a strike and three and their account is suspended. The way I always look at is the non bidder I file might be there third. It will also maybe ( doubtful but by the sounds of them ) make them realise that they cant muck people around. By the sound of them they might plead a bit with you , that is not fair, but what is not fair is they could have left you high and dry with an unpaid item. Just think you would not have done the same thing, so they deserve the slap.

Actually 'he' is a 'she' - ok I'll do that, but I am worried about any bad comeback.

Hi. Sorry about the he thing ! It is up to you if you are worried about the feedback, but you have to remember they leave feedback about you up to 90 days after they won the item, wether or not they have paid for it. My experience is that I have filed a lot of non payers this year, negged every one of them and not one has negged me back.Trouble with ebay is one day, justified or not , you will get a neg. I dont want to force you into giving a strike, but with all the hassle this ebayer has put you through I would be gutted to let her :D , away with it. Look at the feedback they usually give, it will give you an indication of the type of fedback they leave. If you want you can put their name on here, its permitted! and we can try and suss them out. Plus put her on OUR blocked bidders too.It should really be called a blocked psycho bidders list .Good luck .

Thanks Cat - I'll do it - she shouldn't be allowed to do this again. I'll let you know what happens.
