I have recently taken an arrangement with Vodafone for voice, text and internet.
I chose to dump BT with their ever increasing demands for line rental before even making a call and now rely on a mobile solution.
I was reticent in choosing a committed contract mobile service due to the high amount of problems spoken about here so I thought I would just like to stick my head above the parapet and say that although I have not been with Vodafone long I am so far very pleased with the airtime package and the lovely new iPhone 6 128GB that came with it.
I am enjoying unlimited calls and texts and a generous 3G/4G browsing limit of 20GB but I get unlimited browsing as a free gift for 3 months. I can tether on the plan I have.
Speed tests for internet so far have been impressive. The small rural place I have moved to on the Isle of Wight is well served with 4G signal, indeed a full signal indoors for me. 3G is also well served in other parts as you travel about.
Here at home I have been getting 4G speeds of 17 to 29 megabits.
The sales process was quite straight forward - handset delivered by DPD. I am entitled to a 20% discount as a family member has Employee Advantage. That was applied for on Friday and takes about 48 hours according to the email. Not heard about that yet....
After deducting the cost of the 128GB handset the airtime works out at about £23 a month for voice and data. Quite competetive I think. I sold an iPad 64GB and my old iPhone 5 64GB to offset some of the cost.
So I thought I would hop out of the MSE box and contribute something positive.
Sorry if you thought this was another Vodafone rant.

I am actually shocked at how much data the Speed Test App uses during a test!0

At one point, I was just as happy as you with Vodafone. Until it all went totally and utterly pear shaped, which it still is to this day as we are approaching 2 weeks of having no service with them at all.
So I'd say, wait until something goes wrong. You'll see Vodafone in a totally different light then, like I and countless others did. Just hope you never have to experience the amazing bundle of madness that is Vodafone Customer (Dis)Service.0 -
Hi A Flock Of Sheep,
That’s great to hear!
Thank you for taking the time to feed this back.

Dear Vodafone Rep:
Just don't screw up! I haven't had notification of my employee discount yet and it's just over the 48 hours it said on the email. :eek:0 -
