Our goal is to post up information on work undertaken in the House of Commons that has a consumer focus which may not be highlighted elsewhere.

Questions to Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer

  • What progress he has made on his policy to create a Northern powerhouse for the UK economy - Mr David Jones
  • What recent steps he has taken to rebalance regional economies - John Pugh
Income tax:
  • What plans he has to bring forward legislative proposals to change income tax allowances and thresholds - Jackie Doyle-Price
Uncollected tax & tax avoidance:
  • What estimate HM Revenue and Customs has made of the amount of uncollected tax in the last year for which figures are available - Heidi Alexander
  • What recent steps he has taken to reduce tax avoidance - Mark Hunter
Tax credits:
  • How many working people are in receipt of tax credits - Mr Steve Reed
Pensions:
  • What progress he has made on measures to reduce taxes on pensions - Stephen Metcalfe
Employment:
  • What assessment he has made of recent trends in the level of employment- Mr David Burrowes
