Mobile Phone Repair taken 2 WEEKS! :(

Options
I took my Sony Ericsson mobile into Argos in Bedford 2 weeks ago to get it fixed because the camera stopped working.

Because I had it for less than 12 months, they said they would send it away to be repaired and it would be back in the store within 2 weeks.

2 weeks has gone and passed and they still havent rang me to tell me they have it back. I dont know what to do now, does any one have any ideas on what I should do??

Because if i go into the store they will probably just say they dont have it, and will still make me wait for it. Any ideas appreciated :) Thanks

we normally quote up to 21 WORKING DAYS for repairs so i dont know why you were quoted a 2 week turnaround.

also bear in mind that the postal strikes and recent weather will not help the situation either

hope they can sort things out for you

Think yourself lucky... I've known phones take 4 weeks to come back. Just bear in mind that it is not Argos doing the actual repairs. It's a company called MPRC and Argos have no control over how long it takes. If you're concerned about the length of time it's taking then give your store a call and ask them (politely) if they could chase it up for you.

  • Hope your phone cost you less than that in the outset though, Vikki?!

Did you keep your sim? If not I'd ask for extra compo for the hassle of having to re obtain numbers etc
  • Obtain numbers and possible network charge to replace sim too.

I would'nt have thought they would have sent the SIM with the phone as thats normally left with you when the phone goes in. After dealing with MPRC several times, It doesn't surprise me that the phone went missing. I just hope you ended up a little better off with the transaction...
  • yes i kept the sim and box etc. the phone was worth about £70 now. but i'll just buy a new one =]
