Which PPI reclaims company

Hi There,

We are looking at reclaiming our PPI and think we may have quite a lot due back to us (multiple credit cards / loans / insurances etc) in the past which have now all been paid off. Our problem is that some of them go back many years and we don't have the documentation / information anymore once they were all paid off.

For ease we would like to go through a claims company as there is so many there, simply going through everything will take considerable time which we don't have. My question is, is there a list of the best claims company to use? Which might disclose some of the hidden T&C's?

We've been cold called and they wanted 40% which is way too high!

Any comments would really help, although we really can't do it ourselves due to the amount of time involved in us doing it! thanks

There is no such thing as a good or best claims company, they do no more than you can do yourself. If paperwork does not exist, they cannot magic it up.

What is the reason for your claim, how do you believe you were missold? Have you contacted the lenders to see what information they hold?
  • Also, wanted to mention, the credit reports only go back 6 years and we have numerous loans etc before this period, i understand its likely that we can only reclaim older matters back through a PPI reclaim company anyway as we no longer have the information? thanks

The claims companies have no more access to information than you do.

Coblers. If they have information you dont then you want to steer well clear as would have obtained this information deceptively or fraudulently. Why would you want this?

There is no such thing as a list of good companies. It's FREE to make a PPI mis-sale complaint.

bexxyv - it is free to complain

If you want to do it yourself you fill in the FOS claim form, explain your reasons and see what they come back.

If you want a claims company do do it, you fill in the FOS claim form, explain your reasons and see what they come back and then the claims company takes 30%+ of your claim.

See what I did there? Claims company does nothing for you, they simply send off the complaint for you and then take your money for posting a stamp.

Do not use a claims firm, they cannot do anything that you cannot do yourself

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

You will need to fill in forms and provide account details to the CMC.

Most banks will let you complain about PPI on their website. Just gain the account details you do have and tell them why you feel the PPI was mis-sold. If you dont have account details of the loans/cards etc that had PPI with then just phone them up and ask, you can also make telephone complaints.

As others have said, that is a wrong assumption. CMCs require you to supply them the info. They just fill in the same form you could fill in yourself.

    What "hidden" T&Cs?

The terms and conditions even of really old finance are freely available from your bank and, if you agreed to them, how can they be "hidden"?

You have a really inaccurate view of what a Claims Company is and what they can (and cannot) do.
  • Bexxyv, don't waste your time on this forum.

There is no discussion about anything a claims company may or may not provide this is just a slagging off CMC forum. There is no acceptance that some people may actually want to use a company to remove some of the paperwork and not all charge 30%. I suggest you research elsewhere following the main PPI reclaim site guidelines on there.

The problem with slagging off every CMC as being lying crooks who charge 30% is that people end up with no information and end up with the very companies that should be avoided.
