How to save contacts on sim card?

Hi,

Can somebody please help me by explaining how I save my phone contacts onto the sim card which is in my Android phone.

When I open my list of contacts some of them are already on the sim but many are not - they seem to be saved on the phone itself.

Thanks if you can help - and make it very simple - please:o

  • These days there is so much more info that can be added to contacts, such as e-mail address, postal address, etc. In addition, contacts can be integrated into other Apps too. So the trend is to save them on the phone with backup to the "cloud", as there is more data than can be saved to a SIM card.

Open the contacts folder, click on menu, click on manage contacts, click copy contacts, click on phone, select all, click on copy to then select sim

Why do you want to save contacts on your SIM? It is usually better no to as you can store a lot more contact information if you do not and easily back them up.

Sorry - I do feel stupid but I can't find "menu" when I open my contacts.

There is screen that says import/export, I select that and there is the choice to "copy contacts from phone storage", then there's a choice to "copy contacts to" (1) my email address; (2) 02-UK with a little symbol that looks like a sim card; (3) SD card; (4) phone storage.

If I select (2) there are only 3 contacts to copy; but I'm sure there are many more contacts that I think are in my phone storage and not on the sim.

I've found somewhere that says there are 112 contacts in 02-UK (is that the sim?); but there are 253 listed as contacts in my contact list.

I really need to sign up for classes!!!

Because I've got in such a mess with this phone, all the settings seem to be out and I don't know what I'm doing with it!

I want to reset it to factory and start again, without the danger of losing all my contacts.

The menu button is probably next to the home button ...looks like 3 lines

Hi, there's just 3 buttons on the bottom line, a return, a home, and one that's a small rectangle with a line over it, and when I tap that I get a menu :- Import/export; Clear frequents; Accounts; Settings and Share visible contacts.
