I had a problem with my light pendant causing a fish smell when the bulb heated up. Worth checking if the smell is only at night0

A loose connection in a socket or light fitting will cause a fishy smell, as it heats up. As its mainly at night I would check out light fittings.0

You say that the room was redecorated. Did you use Crown emulsion by any chance?
I used it to decorate a room once and was left with a disgusting fishy/cat pee smell for weeks
Never again!0 -

I've had this problem with one of my light fittings too - took me ages to figure out that it was due to the bulb being too high wattage (and presumably heating up the plastic parts around it). The smell stopped as soon as I replaced the bulb with a lower wattage one.0 -
Copydex smells of fish. Check with the fitter whether glue was used. The smell should fade when the glue goes off.Je suis sabot...0

New Carpets can smell little odd , but here are ways you can reduce the smell . First make sure that you ventilate the room ., if this is not possible you can add baking soda over the carpet before going to bed and then vacuum the carpet next morning , this helps a lot., I have tried for my corridor carpet and it worked.0
