Plustnet deal 11 nov

I currently pay £22/month for BT (line rental + free evening/WEs calls which I use very little, almost never except when Sky took over O2 and I had to call), and £14/month for Sky broadband (ex O2)...
Download speed 7Mbits/s, upload 900Kbit/s.
I have a O2 router Thomson 100Mbits/s which I configure for firewall to access a server behind the router.
1) does anyone if I can see the terms of my contract with BT online on mybt website? where? I want to find out if I'm on a stuck deal and I would have to pay to leave them?
2) Would the Thomson router still work with Plusnet?
3) As Plustnet is part of BT, do I still qualify for the deal?

Check here.1) does anyone if I can see the terms of my contract with BT online on mybt website? where? I want to find out if I'm on a stuck deal and I would have to pay to leave them?
If you received a letter/email about price rises this may allow you to leave your contract early without penalty.
Quite a few people on this forum are doing this, including myself.
Plusnet will supply a new Technicolor TG582n Pro router (formerly Thomson). Although it costs £5.99 for delivery. Good to have something new and in warranty.2) Would the Thomson router still work with Plusnet?
If you want to keep your old router, check if it's the Thomson TG585 as I don't think that was locked back in the days of O2/Be. The TG582n supplied be O2/Be might be.
Yes. Plusnet are still a completely separate company, albeit owned by BT. They do operate independently from BT and their retail division (and I just moved to Plusnet from BT and am getting the introductory deals).3) As Plustnet is part of BT, do I still qualify for the deal?
Rds,
If you have not already, check out Quidco and TopCashBack as they were doing some deals with £100 cashback.0 -
These types of contracts have an initial minimum term of typically 18 months then revert to 30 day rolling contracts. If you accept a change of some sort (eg price reduction) this will normally involve a new minimum term. Your only way to find out if terminating the contract will involve a charge is to ask when you get your MAC from Sky. For the phone line you'll just have to ask.
Plusnet supply a router but you have to pay about £6 delivery. IMO as you had to ask if yours would work you may as well take the PN one then if you have any issues you can get suport from them.
Although PN are owned by BT they are run as a different company so you'd still qualify for any new customer deals.
Don't forget to order through a cashback site (Topcashback or Quidco).0 -
