Others on SW/specific diet plans.... have you found it has made a big difference to your shopping bill? I struggle to keep within the budget I used to set myself as I'm less able to go for the best deal pricewise. I kind of see it as an investment in my health long term so don't mind too much. Doesn't sit well with my MSE side though. Am I missing something? No Lidl/Aldi in my town. Maybe I should try the weekly market for fruit and veg?

I would echo a lot of what tweets said, at the start you think that you need a lot of fresh veg and fruit but after a while you find a few recipes that work out very economical and are mostly from tins / powders - mushy pea curry (doesn't taste like mushy peas!), baked bean lasagne.

I find meat is the expensive part, so have mushroom curry (love curry!) instead of chicken.

Mullerlights are expensive too, but smartprice fatfree yogurt with a portion of options is a good alternative - not syn free but a good compromise.

Short answer: yes more expensive but with some planning it doesn't have to be excessively so.

Oh, and we have an Actifry so make wedges for 1tbsp of oil (6syns or HexB if Extra virgin olive oil), that is enough for two adults and a toddler.

    Hope that helps :)

As I was paying for my shopping yesterday, a man was setting up the magazine stand thingys :T

I had to walk past 3 of them upon my exit, all completely full and untouched by human hand (until I took a stack of them from each stand as I went past obviously;))

    Isn't it.

It's the most miles he's completed in a day. He was up and out before I left for work and came back in darkness.

Well that's what he told me he was doing:rotfl:
