A nice reminder for us all.

    :T

£150 is currently the best current account switching incentive out there; haven't seen a bank offer more than £125 so this is a great deal.

    :)

On the downside it is Clydesdale.

    Good afternoon,

I would love some help with a mobile phone contract please.

I am after a sim only deal DD has a iPhone 4s.
We would like unlimited texts, unlimited calls, not too bothered on data as she usually uses the home wifi.
I have found a deal with The peoples operator which is normally £14.99 a month but for the first 3 months is £4.99. The query I have is that it is on a 30 day contract so could I just cancel after the 3 months before it goes up to £14.99 ?
    Thanks in advance

Has anyone's advent calendar TCB tracked yet?

Mine tracked almost immediately, DH's not yet. Both entered at same time.

Just read this. I would like to do it, I am currently waiting for Co-op to deposit my £100, it completed on 27th Oct, and I deposited just over £800 in the few days after that.
Does anyone know how long Co-op take to pay up?

I was going to switch to First Direct after co-op, and have already opened FD accounts.

I opened FD on 24 Oct. and their site says you have to switch within 3 months of opening.

Now, my dilemma is, do I go from Co-op to Clydesdale then FD?

Does anyone know how quick Clydesdale is to switch?

That's a tricky one. I think co op say 45 days? If we assume max time scales, then that takes you to beginning of December to switch from co op. It will be difficult to do another 2 switches within the time scales. Obvious option would be FD next and finally Yorkshire/Clydesdale BUT I have a feeling that Yorkshire/Clydesdale bank will withdraw this offer before Feb 2015 as per their T&Cs

    Why downside? :o

They're a UK bank with FSCS protection. Or do you mean their cumbersome application and switching process?

Credit cards are tricky as it really depends on the purchase amounts.

I've got a Santander 123 credit card for petrol, public transport etc. Amex for big spends and capital one for smaller purchases. Martin has got a good section on here. I've been treating my credit cards as debit cards for quite a few years.

    :)
Are you aware of the Amex Shop Small that starts next month? You need to register you card....but well worth it, if you can spend £10 at selected retailers and get £5 back.

Thanks Karlie, I've just been thinking about this.
I wonder if I could just open another 'spare' account with Barclays (been with them years), and use that to switch to Clydeshire?

I also did this with Nationwide when I first switched to the Halifax, as I didn't want to close current N'wide ones.
