  • Morning All :coffee:

I have to say thanks to everyone who's here, I may not of been part of this community long but the recent thread I read on HUKD in regards to the Citroen lease deal has made me value this community more.

I have never been so off put by people, criticising this OP for getting her son a car while at Uni... Basically ripping this deal to shreds in a game of I'm better, richer and smarter than you.

I was the first person to thank the OP at comment 200+ and personally I was grateful my 10 Plate Corsa has done just 35,000 miles and I've just had to spend almost £1k getting repairs done. So I'm currently waiting on a reply from a formal complaint from Vauxhall of course :rotfl:

The thing is my very first house is due to be signed over to me this week, so not only could this cost come at the worst time it's helped me to value trouble free motoring that much more, what you see is what you get. So I am considering it, but feels strange ;)

Anyway rant over... I'm working 10am - 6pm then 8pm - 12am so I doubt ill be picking up some Irn Bru and Frozen pasta today, but I am looking forward to reports of what this Frozen pasta tastes like :rotfl:

In spite of what happened (or maybe because of it, seeing everyone rally around FC) I still think this place is wonderful. Unfortunately, because it is the internet, trolls are everywhere. But that doesn't and shouldn't diminish this place because then they've won. A very sad little victory.

I'd hope that people will continue to share bits of their lives and stories on here. I certainly will be :)

I only catch bits & pieces as I mostly read stuff in the day not what's posted at night & I don't have the time to read it all back, but it was the same on HUKD,I used to be on the Misc forum a lot a few years ago but the amount of trolling on there at one point was ridiculous, one person used to "pick on" a few people time after time.

I tend to post on the deals section over there now as every now & again I still get some idiot having a go at me for no apparent reason if I'm on the ASK or MISC forum & then I want to smash their faces in so I have to leave the thread and not go back to it for my own sanity and then I tell OH and he says just tell them to F off  lol

It's difficult at times, but it really is best to ignore these trolls as they seem to get off on upsetting people and they don't like to be ignored so ignoring them is the best policy.

I'm not sure what's happened but hope everyone is as ok as they can be :)

Guess who forgot to send away proof of their no claims discount when they changed car insurance last month and now can't find the letter :o

There goes my morning nap  :rotfl:

This sounds like the beginning of an advert but...

I used to be like you... Then I found Evernote. Don't know if you've heard of it, it's an online application that you can get on your mobile too and basically you scan in all your documents and it indexes them for you... So then you just have to search keywords such as insurance, car, proof... and you'll find the document your looking for... [Provided you remember to scan it in :rotfl:]

It also works well for photographing receipts.

I've recently used it when I broke down to get my breakdown policy up and when trying to return something on the consumer goods act.

Could be worth looking into :)

I'm not sure if it's still there, but a few weeks ago on the O2 Priority Moments app there was an offer for 1 year's free Premium version of Evernote. Wish I'd seen it before I joined up  Anyway, hope that helps someone!

    Morning all!:D

    “Good morning, Eeyore," said Pooh.
"Good morning, Pooh Bear," said Eeyore gloomily. "If it is a good morning, which I doubt," said he.
    "Why, what's the matter?"
"Nothing, Pooh Bear, nothing. We can't all, and some of us don't. That's all there is to it."
"Can't all what?" said Pooh, rubbing his nose.

  • Thousands of tickets to Scotland’s top heritage attractions up for grabs to celebrate St Andrew's Day

Some of Scotland’s best known heritage attractions will be giving away thousands of free tickets to people who pre-register online as part of this year’s St. Andrew’s celebrations.

Scotland’s most visited paid for tourist attraction, Edinburgh Castle, the former home of the Stewart Kings and Queens, Stirling Castle, and Urquhart Castle on the banks of Loch Ness are amongst 35 of Historic Scotland’s winter ticketed attractions participating across the length and breadth of the country. The ticket giveaway is part of the Scottish Government’s Winter Festivals campaign which celebrates Scotland’s unique festivals – St. Andrew’s Day, Burns Night and Hogmanay – and this year forms part of Homecoming 2014, which has seen events take place the length and breadth of Scotland.

Members of the public can register for tickets from today, 10th November, at a special website, www.ticketgiveaway.co.uk. Visitors can register for a free ticket for their chosen site for either Saturday 29th or Sunday 30th November which will provide admission for up to two adults and three children.

There is no limit to how many sites can be applied for, although visitors are being urged to be quick to register so they don’t miss out on the chance to visit a great historic property for free with registration closing at 5pm on Friday, 28th November.

For tickets and a full list of participating sites visit www.ticketgiveaway.co.uk.

For details of opening hours for individual sites, visit www.historic-scotland.gov.uk/places
