A bit of randomness...but I'm looking for an advent candle and dont really want to pay too much for it,usually I get one from webb ivory but I have not had access to a catalogue this year (used to get through scouts, and it was the one token thing I would buy to justify the cause)....and wilkinsons stopped selling them several years ago.

Does anyone know,or could look out in aldi/lidl next time youre in there and let me know if perhaps they are selling them...

    Much thanks in advance

I saw them om hduk either lidl or aldi hth;)

mhoc Superdry do lovely lumberjack style shirts- kinda red check I'm assuming he's after? They are expensive but lovely for a treat. They sometimes do discounts online or you could see if you've got an outlet near you?

And I think he means a cable/wire charger for his tablet.

Afternoon Emm are you on countdown yet 2 more sleeps I think so is that packing done and are you getting :j:j:jexcited

I agree about Superdry a lot cheaper at the outlet centre I know this as Grandsons like this make:eek:

Morning luvlies, just having a little lie in.

We are at Center Parcs - Elveden, all nice and snug watching the last of the last nights rain disappear. We are here with DD1 & 2 and their bf's. Last time we were here with the girls was over 10 years ago. Came on our own 2 January's ago you may remember the snow pics of the deer I posted.

Tried the new cyclone ride out yesterday, DH and I had a donut to ourselves and I got thrown around everywhere as the weight was a bit uneven - thought I was going to ping out!

DH cooking us a nice breakfast - got the last of the pariolli toms to use BBE Jul 13, but they're tinned so absolutely fine and I've been using them until now and we have all survived :rotfl:we've self catered as its saved us heaps - even got some half price rib eye steak yesterday at the parc market shop :D.

They have fireworks on the lake to look forward to tonight all set up on scaffolding across the water. Very Christmassy here, even have a reindeer stable :)

Been trying to catch up with the thread but been skipping so not seen the horrid posts being mentioned, think all removed now. FC I think you're an inspiration, and should be so proud of yourself. Ignore the nastiness, I believe in karma so they're the ones to lose out in the end.

Wishing everyone a lovely Remembrance Sunday xxx

Morning all. DM I hope you're ok and feeling slightly better today.

I picked up one of these yesterday. Not as obvious as wearing a Poppy but I find I always lose them!

    Lest we forget x

    That's lovely EMMAP :)

I bought 2 Poppy money boxes in Mr T's yesterday from the Poppy guys :)

Last year I bought a trolley Poppy coin keyring from Mr S and a lady at work gave me a knitted Poppy :)

mhoc...I second the superdry route, although if he wants practical rather than fashion do you have a local go outdoors or similar to something like millets, maybe even regatta or a workwear type shop

Ta for this - yes I think we need to look at practical rather than stylish and a label - but I like the superdry idea - have to have a look at some websites.

Afternoon all - I will catch up in a while.

I need a lot of help please with youngest sons Christmas list.

so far he has asked me for

"Checked shirts like what lumber jacks have
Samsung tablet wire mine is kaput"

Has anyone any good suggestions for "Checked shirts like what lumber jacks have" ????
Also what on earth could a Samsung tablet wire be and where can I find a replacement?

Also he has asked for books about Hong Kong - living and working there - has anyone any good recommendations?
I might try Freecycle as well - he says to look in charity shops.

Any other suggestions - I am desperate. He is 23 and works as a trainer in the outdoor industry for a multi national company. It ought to be easy to get equipment for him but the stuff he needs is very specialised and a lot of stuff work provides anyway.
He does not want to change his phone, he has got himself a new computer set up so he does not need anything there
(I have got him a new memory card if I can find where I've hidden it! )
Nothing he needs for his van and I think he is happy with everything he has for his home.
He is into gadget things but nothing new has been invented - not interested in x box and game consoles - no time.
He does read and I am always looking out for suitable books like biographies by climbers etc

Last year I had to resort to some mag subscriptions, YHA membership and books and some wheel trims he wanted for his car (which he ordered himself) so his present pile looked a bit dejected :(

    Is this any good?

I'm sure there's a code somewhere for £5 off. I'll see if I can find it
You can use it once per account.
