ooh… these could be OH Christmas present. He hates gardening, but hey ho … he loves tools!

Yesterday - I bought him a posh flipper (sorry cannot remember the right name… for frying eggs) for Xmas… as we need a new one!

    :D:D:D:D

Wilkinsons have a bit of gardening stock left but not a lot - a bit hit and miss - I went looking for reduced spring bulbs yesterday - no joy though :(

Afternoon all - I will catch up in a while.

I need a lot of help please with youngest sons Christmas list.

so far he has asked me for

"Checked shirts like what lumber jacks have
Samsung tablet wire mine is kaput"

Has anyone any good suggestions for "Checked shirts like what lumber jacks have" ????
Also what on earth could a Samsung tablet wire be and where can I find a replacement?

Also he has asked for books about Hong Kong - living and working there - has anyone any good recommendations?
I might try Freecycle as well - he says to look in charity shops.

Any other suggestions - I am desperate. He is 23 and works as a trainer in the outdoor industry for a multi national company. It ought to be easy to get equipment for him but the stuff he needs is very specialised and a lot of stuff work provides anyway.
He does not want to change his phone, he has got himself a new computer set up so he does not need anything there
(I have got him a new memory card if I can find where I've hidden it! )
Nothing he needs for his van and I think he is happy with everything he has for his home.
He is into gadget things but nothing new has been invented - not interested in x box and game consoles - no time.
He does read and I am always looking out for suitable books like biographies by climbers etc

Last year I had to resort to some mag subscriptions, YHA membership and books and some wheel trims he wanted for his car (which he ordered himself) so his present pile looked a bit dejected :(

Maybe he means the USB wire for charging it?

I think I've seen them in Aldi but also have a look in Wilkinsons and Home Bargains - both have very good Christmas sections this year.

I wish Id know you were looking for a specific thing - I had to do the rounds of all of the shops yesterday looking for Christmas cellophane bags and finally found them in Wilkinsons :T

Thank mhoc...I think its the type of thing that will be in aldi/lidl and luckily we have both within a reasonable distance
I know they dont have them in our smallish Wilkinsons as I was in there the other day and asked...they used to do really nice ones and very reasonable but stopped stocking them about 3 or 4 years ago

Scam! Why is it that my HP printer insists on printing an alignment page when I change the ink cartridge, which must use half a cartridge of ink?

... and these Pizza Ristorante vouchers use up the other half! Is that much printing really necessary for one voucher?

Bless you. Don't get stressed, if he into outdoor activities… life is easy (all my kids are, my eldest even did a degree is outdoor activity business management).

I think it depends on what activities they are into such as Climbing -
Andy Kirkpatrick has a few video's out, where he recalls his climbing adventures but he is better than any comedian I have ever seen.

Kayaking - I always buy them a new buoyancy aid (as I panic)

You maybe able to introduce a new hobby, last year we paid for the boys to do their training/get their ticket for diving.

If he wants lumberjack shirts, you need to figure out if he wants a working shirt, or designer one… the costs difference are massive.

    Enjoy spoiling him x

A bit of randomness...but I'm looking for an advent candle and dont really want to pay too much for it,usually I get one from webb ivory but I have not had access to a catalogue this year (used to get through scouts, and it was the one token thing I would buy to justify the cause)....and wilkinsons stopped selling them several years ago.

Does anyone know,or could look out in aldi/lidl next time youre in there and let me know if perhaps they are selling them...

    Much thanks in advance

Aldi has them, just long narrow ones.:)

mhoc Superdry do lovely lumberjack style shirts- kinda red check I'm assuming he's after? They are expensive but lovely for a treat. They sometimes do discounts online or you could see if you've got an outlet near you?

And I think he means a cable/wire charger for his tablet.

2 vote for aldi for the advent candle then...I'll go there.

My problem is we have both L and A reasonably close but in opposite directions, and what normally happens is I go to one thinking its the other....but I shall head for aldi tomorrow

mhoc...I second the superdry route, although if he wants practical rather than fashion do you have a local go outdoors or similar to something like millets, maybe even regatta or a workwear type shop
