I collected loads of poppy seeds from the poppies in my wildflower garden this summer
and have have given away lots to friends and family - they are lovely, big red flowers and grow in any conditions without much care and attention - but still have lots of poppy seeds left over that I might have to put into my recycling bin very soon [boo! hoo!]'It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.'

I only grabbed it because I run out today, would normally buy in Sada (CBY) as a filler. Didn't notice till I was putting it away in cupboard that it had a MBG on it.
Worth checking in major supermarkets, or like me get it in Poundland.

How are you supposed to use this stupid APG system on your mobile through the browser? How is this an enhancement? I have been so fortunate not having "upgraded" but I didn't appreciate just how backward the current version/website input is. Hopefully they will bring back the scanner in the next upgrade - I am not sure I could be doing this long term!

Why the red poppy has become a symbol of the First World War and the remembrance of all those who died and suffered in that terrible conflict...
'In Flanders Fields' is a war poem written during the First World War by Canadian physician Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae. He was inspired to write it on 3rd May 1915, after presiding over the funeral of friend and fellow soldier Alexis Helmer, who died in the Second Battle of Ypres. Its references to the red poppies that grew over the graves of fallen soldiers resulted in the remembrance poppy becoming one of the world's most recognized memorial symbols for soldiers who have died in conflict.
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.'It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.'

I've been out all day and only just caught up, so have thankfully missed all the unpleasantness, but still feel complete outrage just at the gist of what has gone on.
I'm not so eloquent as some on here, so please just accept a huge hug from me Fairclaire. You and your DH rock.
Am not at home and struggling to put a Poppy pic on with my iPad, sorry.

The Byrds, Turn Turn Turn
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, a time to reap that which is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
A time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
