PAYG vs contract is personal preference and dependent on your individual requirements.

I am not a fan of being tied in to a 1 or 2 year contract. Who knows; there may be an amazing offer on in the future or even a glitch that would work out significantly cheaper (T-Mobile had a SIM only glitch several months ago).

It sounds as though you don't want to be committed to a long term contract? If that's the case, then 30-day rolling contracts would suit you best. All you do is give the company a one month warning and your contract ends at the end of the month. No cancellation fees.

Best SIM only deal I can think of for you at this moment in time would be Virgin Mobile. They piggy back off the EE network so have very good UK coverage.

You can get 1200 minutes, unlimited texts and 1GB of data on a 30 day rolling contract for £12 per month. Unfortunately, there are no cashback offers.

However, Virgin are VERY easy to haggle with. So after having had the SIM for 3 months, give them a call saying you want your PAC code (a code that allows you to transfer your mobile number to another provider i.e. you're leaving them). They'll transfer you to their retentions team who will knock the above package down to £5-£7 per month. I can (almost) guarantee this will be the case.

I have done this for both my Mum and boyfriend, my Mum pays £5 per month and my boyfriend initially paid £7 per month. I then phoned again 2 months later and got his down to £5 per month.

Thanks Karlie, for all the info. Especially the bit about 30 day rolling. I didn't know you could do that. :)
  • Sorry Fourp but :rotfl:

Maybe you could tip the liquid out and let it dry out. It may work after that, worth a bash at least. I tried a Belgian chocolate one recently and it tasted fantastic. I haven't converted to ecigs as they contain more nicotine than the ones I smoke now, utterly bizarre. *lights up Silk Cut Silver*

I have been on the e-cig since 1st May this year and not had a single fag since:T

You can get nicotine free liquids, ALL the liquids from ebay are nicotine free.

As for getting the liquid into the little hold Snap, put your finger on the button and blow instead of sucking:cool:. (awaits the comments!!):rotfl:

If your Daughter or anyone you normally phone has a computer available, and you have one! You could both Skype each other for as long as you want which is free to download and totally free to use and as an added bonus you can see each other as well.

We do do that viv but she is often out and about without her laptop. I can never seem to get her pinned down for a Skype session.

Morning pd :) My Matalan order tracked fairly quickly but a Charles twitty one that I did 2 days ago still not showing...wonder if its because I used a voucher and only paid delivery

My Staples order from Monday (59p :)) did not track so I put in a manual claim a few minutes ago. It has now been added to my Christmas Bonus 'boxes' so technically I'm now showing 7 shops completed.

Thanks and noted. I really want to give up by the end of the year. It truly sickens me how much money I've spent on cigarettes, not to mention the health benefits.

What did you find for 59p? The cheapest I found was for £1.

the health benefits far outweigh the cost , since quitting i have noticed massively how clearer my chest is, i have much more energy and feel cleaner too, my hair, nails and skin have noticbly got better although i never thought they were bad before, i can now notice a big difference.

I used to smoke 20 per day.

I have only given up the cigarettes as i still have the habbit with my ecig, i still go outside to smoke it when at work/pub and i get everything i used to get from a cigarette, the only thing i dont get is the expense and the horrid smell which even though i smoked i knew it was a horrible smell, i was very concious of it all the time and was forever chewing gum and spraying perfume.

    good luck. x

Also TS and for anyone else...

...The People's Operator are another UK mobile network that piggy back off EE too.

You can get unlimited minutes, unlimited texts, 3GB of data (more than enough for an average user) for £14.99 on a 30-day rolling contract.

However, currently they have a promotion whereby the first 2 months costs £4.49 per month AND you can get £12 cashback via TCB/Quidco.

They'll also give 10% of your monthly payment to a charity of your choice.

Map pins - reduced from £1.99 :) Sorry PD - these were not on my original list of 6 orders as it had not tracked and didn't want to misinform in case the order did not go through.
