Im feeling the depression today. In a very peculiar mood and can't settle. Come to bed but mind is racing.
Been thinking about a caravan myself! Have you ever had one before? I'm worried about towing and storage?
Hope the busy mind allowed you some sleep in the end.
No, I've never had a caravan before, we've used a tent for the last 4 years, and my parents usually had a motorhome. DH's holidays were always in a caravan though, and his parents still have one now - I like the way it's a "home from home".
We're using a caravan storage site up the road from us. We aren't able to keep it at home without big changes in the back garden. One storage site I found actually had an area to practise reversing with a caravan - very handy if you're new to towing! Some sites also have a caravan delivery service too.
We bought a damp meter before we went caravan shopping, and we ended up buying a Lunar Solar Eclipse which is a lightweight, single axle 4 berth, with an end bathroom. It's a 2002 model and seems to have been very well looked after, and doesn't show much wear on it, unlike some others we viewed.
You know you're growing up when you swap your mini for a caravan
Depression seemed somewhat under control this last week, despite it being that time of the month. I remembered to take an extra 10mg every other day and didn't have heart palpitations. Or coke. I had cake though.
Visited a friend this morning who really wanted to revamp her lounge. We completely rearranged her furniture and it looks a lot better. Normally we go out for lunch but the imminent visit from the gas boiler service man saved us that.
Today would be another NSD but Mr T is delivering later, and when I remember my login details I need to get cat biscuits. She doesn't know yet that she may be on limited supply, but seeing as she's on one of her energy conservation days and doing a great impression of a rug maybe she won't want as many biscuits (yeah, right).0 -
Dh's expenses got paid, sent half to Car account, and half to Cap1. We only have £11 left in the joint account. It's never been that low before , I have paid as much as possible to our debts.
I'm enjoying the challenge, but I think it still doesn't feel like I've completely "adjusted" to how we now need to live until we've paid everything off.
Jacket potatoes with cheese and beans for tea, Mr T delivery cost £43 for this week.
Managed to list two items on fleabay, always satisfying to finally get round to doing a bit of that. Received a free beauty item in the post to test, and did some surveys (anything to avoid doing my self assessment). Still no sign of 0nepoll payout.0 -
Cap1 Statement this month:
Interest £38.94
Cashback £121.
New balance £3,060.
DH has used the card for work, which was £49, there's a few bits from Christmas, oh and my new boots
I know it would save money to switch to a 0% card, but every time we do that, the balance runs up again, I don't trust ourselves.
Paid £11 cashback from Quidco to Cap1 today, ordered the cat her biscuits (£28!!), did an errand for dad (frugally), watered down the milk, used the clothes airer, turned the heating back to auto from allday now the inlaws have gone, and did our meter readings; We're £285 in credit, I think EDF must've made a mistake.
Sun's out, I'm so tempted to get the hedge trimmer out to massacre the jasmine but I'm retreating to the bedroom for some relaxing reading instead. I will do the jasmine. Just not today.0 -
As predicted I forgot to take the boots I sold on ebay to work yesterday, the buyer turned up and was very understanding thank goodness and even gave me the money! I drove the 20 mile round trip to deliver them after work with DS, then spent £8.85 on a packet of crisps for us to share, a bottle of injection cleaner for the fabia and a cheap car wash. The fabia is struggling to start from cold and is so smoky in the first few minutes when it does start. New injectors cost hundreds

The day started in a rush yesterday, as I didn't know that the alarm clock on my phone doesn't work when the phone is switched off, cue DS waking me up at 7.40 followed by dismay and panic getting up in a hurry. Painkillers didn't kick in till I was at work, but a lovely creamy mocha made by a colleague helped, along with a trip out for emergency chocolate, friend's turn to pay.
I have the proceeds of the eBay sale in my purse, £25. Ooh what to do with it
Mum's got flu and is feeling low after the Thursday trip to hospital with dad, looks like he'll be having chemo. To think that 3 years ago all they were talking of doing for him was pallative (sp?) care, and now he's been part of a drug trial, and getting chemo. I think it's down to his amazingly optimistic attitude and changing to a vegan diet. I will go to town today and collect some cassava for him from the market, so that mum can stay at home. I'll have to refuel today as well, but nothing else is planned.
Well that's enough drivel for one post, time to start the day. Am I speaking too soon or do I have a little bit more energy.....?0 -
I'd suggest £10 off the debt and a £15 bunch of flowers for your mumMortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st 1lb determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. I intended to buy mum some flowers, but doing her errands took all morning and I actually forgot!
First I picked up cat stuff, then the cassava from the asian shop, then Sainsburys. I had a stinking headache by the end of it, but mum was very grateful - she would never have asked me to do all that but dad heard that I'd volunteered to do the cassava run and probably encouraged her to make the most of my trip. Fell asleep in the afternoon, but had a nice evening, we made our own popcorn and watched a movie at home.
I'll put the money in the pot, this will mean we take less out for pocket money from the current account.0 -
Today was half productive, half asleep. Did the ironing, filled the stockpot with a lovely soup - made enough for freezing plus 3 lunches this week, and listed an unused iron tidy (why did I buy that thing?) for sale. Found some new items to sell that DS has grown out of.
DH fixed the leaky gutter, we discovered it had been put together wrong years ago, so all it needed was the joint turning round. That's the kind of fix we like! He also spent a bit of time on the fabia, fitting the new rear wiper I'd bought three months ago and couldn't fit as the old one had rusted on, checking the coolant as the red light come on sometimes, and putting the injector cleaner in.
It's strange how I thought my parents knew how to do everything when I was a child, but now I'm an adult they seem very incapable of doing simple things.
Poor DH, we have virtually no meat in the house

A quick comment on your SOA - you show benefits of £81 (child benefit?) but your partner's income of over £3,200 suggests they may earn over £50k? Just checking you're aware of the restrictions on CB for higher earners?
If you are and this isn't the case, please ignore!

Hi Allconnected, yes good spot!
DH has to complete a self assessment each year and we pay the appropriate proportion back.0 -
Sold the iron tidy for a fiver, that'll be collected this morning. I advertised it for free on FB.Another waste of money I don't need to look at any more

DH should be getting his offer letter this week which means he'll be paid for any untaken holiday provides he hands his notice to the old company asap. He would very happily spend it on a motorbike project/anything oily but I suggested we use it to clear the n'wide card which is coming to the end of it's 0% shortly. He agreed :D
DH's payday tomorrow, I'm going to look at how much we can pay off today....0
