If this is longer term, take a mobile phone in, and ask permission.
They aren't totally banned any more.
If the patient is mobile, and sometimes if not, you may be able to call the ward on a local number and have them come to the phone, or the phone to them0 -
Patient is unable to handle a mobile but other visitors do bring theirs. In the current ward there is zero signal on any network except possibly EE but none of the visitors is on EE or the EE mvnos. So yes have exhausted every option. In the end, so long as I get through 1st time and someone hands the patient the handset, 50p/min is not the end of the world. The mobile rates to call this number are totally horrendous and the deliberate over 1 minute preamble before the call even gets through is unethical and does not cast a good light on Hospedia.0
