Bit of an update on all fronts and some good news too. Major silver lining occurring!

My car replacement hunt went terribly. I was getting a bit fed up if I am honest. I borrowed a car from my Dad for a few weeks as I cannot get to work for 07:30 at weekends via bus. Its lovely, comfortable and does about 60mpg, so is super frugal.

My father mentioned I needed a car to a friend of his and he said he could help. He was just about to sell a car that was being used by one of his employees. Worth more than my budget though. But he said he would sell it to me for what I had (£2.5k) I should pick it up next week. I have been very fortunate!

I also have sold four e-bay items for around £15. I will have to re-list one item as the seller wasnt registered and claimed he had sent the money via PayPal. Obviously I didnt send it, bit of a hassle though.

I have about five things I need to list today.

Have cashed out £30 from Global Test Market - took ages for it to arrive in my PayPal account. I have £13 sitting in my OW account also and I still haven't spent any of the vouchers I had from last time.

Spends will be minimal, I want to nip to the local produce place and attempt some smoothie flavours today and I have a date later so hopefully that goes well.

Firstly, my new to me car is ready! Il collect it at the weekend. I am super excited.

Secondly, I managed to leave an entire paid for bag of shopping on the self checkout and get to my house before I realised.

A tale of two halves! I did return for my forgotten bag, only for the security chap to laugh at me! He said people do it all the time, perhaps he was making things up to make me feel better. Perhaps not.

I hope you enjoy your new car and it's nice and cheap to run for you. We have a Hyundai and it hardly needs anything doing to it, although at 10 years old it's starting to sound a little grumpy.

You've done very well to save so much considering all the extra expenses, and nice of your Mum to give you a gift.

Hi Amy,

Im hoping to save around £30/month in fuel alone. Tax is £100 less a year, insurance about £50 more. I will standing order the £30 a month into a savings account so it doesnt get lost each month.

I do live fairly frugally but I am incredibly lucky, especially in light of some of the fortune detailed in the above posts!

My date went super well! Will be seeing her again for sure. Which is excellent.

Spent some of my sainsburys vouchers still have the TopMan one left. Although I've pretty much decided on a pair of summer shoes.

In other MSE news I have been eBaying a bit but I have also spent a touch extra on dates/socialising. So:

Currently have £15 sitting in Global Test Market still. Im close to the £20 though.

My current PayPal balance sits at £103. Its slowly going up. I need to list a few more things on e-Bay next week.

I also need a headlight bulb for my car, typically. Halfords suggest £59.. Other places £29 for a pair. Il do some more shopping. Should be able to fit it myself, if not I have some friendly people who will help me should I ask.

I have another date on Sunday, I was going to suggest we go out for Sunday lunch, circa £30. But instead we agreed to make a pizza to share. So my bread making machine is currently stirring up some dough! Very frugal! Had all the ingredients for it and minimal spends on vegetable toppings!
