Were you given permission to cross-post identical posts on multiple boards?

Well advertising spam does tend to need permission on forums.

I personally never realised that the broadsheets had got so bad. Thankfully i've not read them for years.
• Hi guys, no one really said what the deal was with regard to duplicate posting. To be frank I wasn't sure where to post it. I tried one forum but no one replied. I tried another and they said, it's not relevant to this forum.
Happy to delete any duplicates - might need help on how to do this without causing problems - already tried to delete one.
Need some help with this article, not trying to spam the forums, just trying to do my job... sorry if I've annoyed anyone!
Any positive suggestions on the best way forward would be much appreciated.

Hello,
I'm a freelance journalist for the Guardian and the Observer and have been given permission by MSE to post on this forum.

I'm writing an article for the Observer this week and would like to interview some case studies about resolutions they have made that have had a negative financial impact on their lives. These can be New Year resolutions, although they don't have to be.

For example:

- someone who decided to sign up to a gym to get fit and ended up in a contract they never used.
- someone who decided to learn to drive and has never used a car since.
- someone who decided to invest in the stockmarket/somewhere else that ended up being disastrous.
- someone who spent loads on a dating website but it was a waste of time and money
- someone who decided to eat healthily, spent loads of money on juicers or weight loss clubs, and it was a waste of money
- someone who decided to stop drinking coffee to save money every day and ended up falling asleep at work or making a bad financial decision in some way
- something similar!

Case studies should ideally be willing to be photographed.

Let me know if you're interested by emailing me: Donna.freelancer+media@gmail.com with the subject line 'worst resolutions'.

You can check I am who I say I am on the Guardian website:

Thanks for your time.

The forum rules (link at the foot of each page), state:
Forum users mustn't post comments more than once on the forum (the only exception is members of the MSE Team; when needed). It's called spamming and most internet forums forbid it.

Rather than just complain, perhaps you could suggest which single board would be the best one for this to be posted in? Personally, because of the breadth of subjects the OP wishes to cover, I don't think it's completely unreasonable to post on a selection of the most relevant boards.

True, but it could be achieved in a different way, such as posting the detail on one board and then just posting links to that detail on other boards. This would have the huge advantage for both, the originator and the contributors, that most (all?) responses would be in one place.

Not sure though whether the OP is entitled to post links. Whichever, all members of the forum are free to ignore posts they find uninteresting or otherwise irrelevant to themselves.
