had ears checked/syringed, lately?
use some warm olive oil, drop into ear (lay on you side), for about 10mins each ear. this will loosen up any gunk!Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..

Ah. I assumed the headphone jack would cut off the speakers. In that case, OP, the simplest solution is a long 3.5mm jack extension lead, and a pair of headphones, maybe a pair with in-line volume built into the lead, so you can adjust your volume without using the menu on the TV and disturbing others viewing.
You don't NEED wireless phones if you can cope with a cable running around the room.0 -

Do you have hearing aids?
If so go back to NHS [as the is MSE I assume you got NHS supplied digital ones ] and get your hearing checked & the frequency adjusted
