Message failed status 38! Whats it mean?

I have been trying to send a text all afternoon from my motorola phone (on Orange) and just keep getting the message 'failed' and its then stored in my outbox to try again later. comes up with ' failed - status 38'.


Any ideas what this means?

ermmm, my daughter has explained it for me, using very technical language, she said 'Mum, how much credit have you got on your phone'.

Simple answer, not enough to send a text :embarasse

I just got this status 38 message when trying to send a text from the UK to he USA ( which I have done successfully in the past)

I'm on a contract so can't have run out of credit?

Is it with a Motorola?

If so, try removing the battery and rebooting.

If this fails, try deleting the number from your contacts, removing the battery, re-booting then input the number again, and retry sending the text.

I am getting the same thing, but it only happens with one number. I have over £9 in my payg orange phone which is a motorola. I also have a new battery in my phone.

this does not happen with other numbers, any more ideas please? Status:38 means zilch to me.
