Well I've had P Bonds for many years, gradual increase in the investment until I now have nearly the current Maximum. Over the years, plenty of £50, then £25 - though with interest rates falling & Less prizes - of course the quantity of wins has dropped. I was lucky enough to win £1000 on them in one prize 2 years ago, just before my 65th birthday in fact, so that was nice.
Bonds are an odd mix of Certainty & uncertainty - the certainty being the basic capital you fall back on will never fall due to stocks, shares & terrorism factors, you are fairly certain provided you have a reasonable quantity of bonds to get about half (Ish) the return you would on a cash ISA, & the other half of the interest, is the long shot uncertainty of winning much bigger prize. Yes, it is pretty long, but with banks - that chance is non-existent.0 -
Any idea why the rate is being reduced in June? Interest rates haven't dropped and N&I have upped the amount people can invest to £50k so I would assume more have been bought.0

Is it better to have one account of £50000 rather than two accounts of £25000 to win a prize0

Registered with who? Savings there - who or what is "there"? I'm not a mind-reader
The APS I'm thinking of was set up with respect to RBS. Does whatever you are talking about involve RBS / Natwest?0
