Just to bump this one up as our friends at Erudio have issued a copy of the new DAF Guide on their website.
Take a look at post #3400 onwards on the main forum thread for discussions on its content and "changes".....

Had a quick look over their NEW DAF form advice:

What has changed since Erudio Student Loans took over my loan?

The terms and conditions have not changed and the legal requirements to successfully apply for deferment remain the same as in previous years. Some of the sections of the Erudio Student Loans application form require you to provide more detail, so that a ‘better assessment of eligibility’ for deferment can be made. Once your application has been completed we will inform you of the outcome and let you know if any further information is required.
So many lies, half truths and utter sh**e in this one small paragraph.
Correct Erudio: Terms and conditions HAVE not changed because you ONLY have the same RIGHTS as the Original Creditor. The deferment process however has been made unbelievably difficult by a Debt Collection Agency out to make MONEY.
!!!!!! does a ‘better assessment of eligibility’ even f**king mean? Also ‘MORE detail’ of income or the colour of my front door is not needed in order to defer.
‘Inform you of the outcome’ Am I on f**king trial here?
I humbly suggest that no one uses the new DAF on a point of principle. It will cost them a fortune in administration0 -
Yes its still designed to put you off or phish for things they are not entitled to.
Also missing the biggest point which is there is no legal requirement to use their scammy form at all.
MSE should arguably not be giving this legitimacy.Still rolling rolling rolling......<

So erudio HIDE the FPN on their Website instead of on their NEW DAF.
LOL
How is this better for us?
You are right Rizlaking. MSE should not be giving this new DAF any legitimacy.
NO NEED for ANYONE TO USE THEIR DAF AT ALL.
Any chance of a MOD ? Helen from MSE commenting on this? Absolutely disgusting tactic and makes a mockery of the recent statement by HELEN ASHTON on the Erudio website about making deferment processes as straight forward as possible.
I guess a DCA can only ever act like a DCA. No amount of PR bluster can cover up the stench of all this.

I have ALWAYS deferred my student loan every March. As most of you know, Erudio administration have been totally incompetent and unprofessional in their communication, dealing with 'graduate' students.
I have received arrears letters??? from them and I am now in proceedings with the Financial Ombudsman to hopefully help me out of this depressing, stressful situation I have found myself.
I have never been or ever will have the pleasure of earning over the threshold to start paying the loan off and I believe Erudio have put these arrears on for some reason to get some money back.
I feel at a total loss as to why?! when I was informed my student loan had been deferred by both The SLC and Erudio.
I never signed the deferment form, stating one of Martin Lewis template letters to them and after MANY recorded letters to them, confirming I had signed and dated and put my name on the letters, got replies back that did not confirm anything but asked again for information. Talk about terrible administration.
Anyway, I have finally had my loan deferred BUT these mystery arrears remain and they want them paid, when I have insisted that I have and always will be earning below the threshold of paying back the student loan.0 -
I have today received news from student loans (Glasgow), confirming that when you are paying a student loan back through your wages, you are under no obligation at all to pay back the mortgage style loan as well. They are confirming this in writing. As I understand it, wHat this means, is that firstly deferment of the mortgage style loan becomes unnecessary. Also, it means that the new deferment form that erudio have drawn up is incorrect because it makes no reference at all to this rule and therefore assumes that deferment has to take place even if the other loan is being paid. This clearly conflicts with the rules. I have raised a complaint with erudio concerning this and will be taking the matter to the FOS assuming they can't resolve the complaint. I believe that this May impact many students like myself who studied during the transitional period.0

Last year it was the evidence of earnings were not found after they had confirmed receipt. After sending again and poor communication from Erudio, I recieved threatening letters with arrears even though I earn under their threshold.
This year I filled in the DAF blacked out the terms which I do not agree with, signed and dated. Sent an email to check up on progress and they informed me that they cannot complete the deferment as they did not receive a signed DAF????
I have asked them to show me the unsigned DAF, no reply so far. I do not trust them one bit, as it's a month before the deferment I would not be surprised if they are deliberately trying to miss the deferment date. If it does happen I'm off to the FOS and FCA after their reply to last years complaint letter saying that they are doing everything to ensure excellent customer service0 -
Hi all,
I'm coming to the end of a 2 year employment contract and was keen to contact Erudio re a deferment until I'm earning again but they seem to be impossible to get in touch with! I've been paying my loan repayments for a few years now and want to pay off ASAP but needs must until a new contract or post appears. Having read a fair amount of very negative comments and experiences, I'm worried they might be being deliberately obtuse! Their website provides what appears to be an unregistered number and they don't seem to be keen to reply to email. Has anyone recently been successful in getting in touch with them and or got an ammended deferment form??
Many thanks!0 -
I phoned them the other day on someone's behalf, and had no problem getting through to them.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
