Christmas gifts for a 12 year old girl?

Hi

Hoping to tap into your ideas!
My daughter is 12 and I'm at a loss what to get her for Xmas. She's no help, generally shrugging the shoulders and grunting she doesn't know when I ask for some ideas (it was so much easier she everything was barbie and my little pony)

Friends have suggested giving her money but I'd still like to buy her some things to open.

So far I have bought her an Xbox one so that's a big present sorted but I can't think what else? And I don't want her to have less to open than the younger ones on Xmas morning.

Help! Please x

  • What about nail art??? Nail varnish....nail jewels etc. They have some nice sets about this time of year.
    Manicure/pedicure kit.
    Miniature perfumes...maybe???
    Clothes
    Books
Vouchers for a day out....like a theme park

I know some of my suggestions are quite girly but I'm thinking what I'd like when I was that age. I do remember being that age and not really knowing what I wanted so her shrugging at ideas is probably her way of saying she doesn't know what she wants.

I'm sure more people will have better suggestions then me and you will get loads of great ideas!

Does she have a favourite band? Thinking CDs, T-shirts etc. (Favourite band member's face printed on a pillow!)

Nail varnish set (if you allow it.)

Nice pencil case, highlighters, pens etc (what girl/woman doesn't love stationary??)

    New school bag.

    Hat/scarf/gloves

DSD gets cold feet so she loves big fluffy slippers and slipper socks.

    Onesie?

  • She has a few onesies and would happily live in them, so she would love more! Stationary is a good idea too! Why didn't I think of these!

My niece is 12 and will be getting things like new pjs/onsie, basic make-up (nail varnish, lip gloss - all approved by her mum), DVDs, Olly Murs album, christmas beanie boo, clothes.

If she was getting an xbox one she wouldn't be getting anything else though!

my daughters 12 and im getting her the new olly murs cd (signed), some customised converse she created on their website, some jls perfume which she loves and the new diary of a wimpy kid book thats out next month as well as other small bits and pieces.

Her birthday was this month and she had a mixture of vouchers and cash which she loved spending when in town with her friends
  • I have asked her to make a list, surely she must know what her friends want/are getting? But tbh I think in this case, she has everything she wants and I'm buying for the sake of it. Just don't want her to have 2 or 3 things when her sisters have more.

My dd will be 11 3/4 at Christmas. My mum has bought her one of these cases for her to put her make up and bits and bobs in

Plus a large pink 'handbag'. It seems the trend in our area/her school is to have an oversized handbag to take your school books in rather than the rucksack I bought for starting yr 7!

I've just bought mine an animal onesie, she needs it for a play prior to Christmas, so is getting it early.

She requested several of the xmas themed smellies from Lush the other day when we went in.

Does she do any out of school activities eg a sport or dancing that you could get something for?

Costume jewellery? Primark were selling off a lot of their stock reduced earlier this week.

Books, does she like to read?

Last year an mse'r put up a poem of how/what things she bought her child/ren. It went:

'something they want, something they need
something to wear, something to read'

I've found that quite good for buying things that fit into different categories.
  • Rather than buy her a gift she might not want, why not look for a day trip or experience instead? I take my nieces to the theatre, or on ghost walks, or hawking. They love the time and the fun, and there is nothing to dust or wrap!
Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

Agreed. My Christmas present this year is gig tickets. For my birthday last year, this year and next year, it's gig / speedway tickets.

Have you got any games / other bits for the X Box?
