    I've been Money Tipped!
We have pork chops once a week and I'm getting fed up having them with potatoes and peas..

What else is good? I'm a fussy easter, so dont like too much green rubbish. And mushrooms are banned.

Red cabbage isn't green stuff! And is great with pork, red cabbage cooked with apples and spices. And mash, or rosti?

I love pork chops with apples, or apples and calvados, over mash ....with lots of green rubbish.....cabbage or green beans preferably.
  • Oooooh I like red cabbage!

    Ditto.

Tesco's value brand is the one for me. Tried Sainsbury's own but not impressed.

ASDA's Smart Price one is, IMHO, good too. A bit off topic, but add some cheap frozen prawns and a chopped sweet pepper for a quick and easy, if totally non-authentic, paella.
If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5? :)
  • Two pork chops, one onion, one tin of pineapple cubes (including the juice), into casserole dish and in the oven for an hour. Serve with mash (to soak up the juices).

For veggies you could try roasted roots - I'll be doing this tonight. For two people - a small parsnip, a carrot, a beetroot. Cut into pieces, drizzle with oil and put on a baking sheet in the oven for half an hour or so (or until tender). Delicious, colourful, and no greenery.

PS How can any adult say they don't like green veg?? You might not like some green veg (personally, I'm not keen on runner beans) - but it all tastes different. Maybe you're cooking it for too long? Most green veg is fairly gross if it's over cooked.

  • Chops, onion, apple, dollop of wholegrain mustard, sage turned out to be quite nice. Had it with boiled spuds.
